A Gun Toting Model Without Her Finger On The Trigger

Once again, completely for educational purposes relative to firearms, I post a photo of a woman holding a gun. As can be seen in this photo, this gal is demonstrating a safe manner by which to hold a rifle while keeping her finger off of the trigger. Note that she is holding the pistol grip with all of the fingers wrapped around it which is the alternative safe method to the one in which the trigger finger rests above and outside of the trigger guard along the receiver.

I am a married man and thus will not comment on her shooting attire.

I Keep Thinking I Want To Sell A Gun Or Three...

...to put the money toward a new pistol. The thing is, for the life of me, I can't figure out what I'd be willing to part with and then not regret it later. If you have been into firearms for a decent amount of time, you probably know exactly what I mean. You sell a gun you are certain that you are willing to part with and that you surely will not miss and then boom, six months or a year or so down the road, you regret ever having sold it. Then maybe, a year or three later you sell another gun and you wind up regretting getting rid of that one even though the money you got from the sale went to buy another really nice piece.

I first sold a couple of my guns, in separate sales, when I was in the Border Patrol. No big deal then because I wound up buying the same exact ones again, they were Beretta Jetfires in .25ACP. There had been condition issues with the ones I sold - like getting rusty from sitting in my sweaty pocket all day long when I was chasing down illegals, through salt cedars, in 100 degree plus heat. That can ruin a gun really quickly even if you oiled it the night before as I had done. I also sold a few other guns in the early years of my marriage when we were strapped for cash. Bad move because I wasn't able to buy even one new gun with the cash I made off of those sales. Then, several years later, I started selling a gun here, a gun there, luckily not a gun everywhere. I regretted selling each and every gun I sold when I was strapped for cash and almost any of the others I have sold now and then after that. Every time I think of some of the ones I have sold before, I just about kick myself in mine arse and believe me, if I actually did it, it would be a hard one at that!

So, that's were I am right now. I can't make up my mind on what to sell to help fund buying the new one(s) I want. I have been going over the list of what I have though and have come up with a few possibilities. Some of the ones that come to mind as a possible for sale guns are my:

Winchester Model 37 Shotgun: This is a 12 gauge, single barrel shotgun. It's in good shape cosmetically with wear and light rust over most of it. Cleaned up fairly well once I bought it. In very good to excellent mechanically. The bore is shiny. The only downside of selling this shotgun (other than seller's remorse) would be that the sale will not fetch much, I am guessing $100 or less. I suppose there might be some opposition from the peanut gallery if I try to sell it as my son kind of likes it.

New England Firearms Pardner Shotgun: This is a single shot, 12 gauge, shotgun. It has surface rust with minor some truly pitting that takes only from the gun's appearance on blued and case hardened surfaces;  although, it cleaned up fairly well after I purchased it. The bore is bright and shiny. It is in excellent mechanical condition. I figure I should be able to get $75 for it.

Iver Johnson Hercules Grade SXS Shotgun: This is also a 12 gauge shotgun but a double barrels, side by side. It is in poor condition and shame on me for not paying more attention when I bought this at an auction. I bid on the wrong one - here were two of them offered up for bids and I missed my opportunity on the other one and wasted my money on this one. I may be able to sell it for parts or I could use it as a wall hanger. I am guessing that, if lucky, I might be able to pull in $50 - $75 for the parts that are useable but this gun was so butchered by a previous owner as to maybe not be worth the effort of stripping it.

Polish WZ-48 Training Rifle: A military surplus training rifle, in the style of a Mosin Nagant. It's a single shot, in 22LR. It is in very good to excellent condition. I might get around $250 - $350 for it. I have had it for a couple to few years now and have not fired it even once so I don't suppose I would miss it much.

High Standard M-101 Duramatic Pistol: This is chambered in 22LR. It is in excellent condition cosmetically and mechanically. I imagine it would bring in a tidy sum, probably around $325 - $350. In addition to the shorter barrel that was standard, this one has an additional longer barrel. I might consider selling that separately from the pistol. If I sell it with the pistol, I am figuring on adding at least another $75 - $100 to the asking price and if I sell it alone I would probably ask for $100.

Smith & Wesson 22a-1: It's a semi-auto pistol in 22LR. I am sure it would sell quickly but am none to sure I want to sell it even though I don't like it much. It functions alright and shoots just fine and cosmetically it looks new but I do not like how it takes down nor the overly cheap feel of it. I am not saying it is cheap but that is certainly how it feels to me (probably not a good selling point ). I have been debating buying an additional magazine or two for it or selling it; so it will either become a $35 - $75 liability (if I buy the mag[s]) or maybe a $200 - 250 money grabber.

Taurus PT145 Millennium Pro: Another semi-auto pistol I am debating with myself as to whether or not I should sell it. It is in excellent condition both cosmetically and mechanically and is only one of two pistols I have chambered in 45ACP. It shoots just fine, in fact better than I had expected since I had sort of a prejudice against Taurus after hearing stories from others. Note I said "had" in that previous sentence; I really like almost everything about this pistol. About the only things that I do not like are the fact that it is equipped with an internal lock and the trigger pull. The trigger travel is extensive and it feels mushy to me (and to my son for that matter). I guess, if I could get used to the trigger, I would love I instead of just liking it. Yet' I doubt I'd ever carry it except as a backup because of the internal lock. I would hate for that to somehow lock up on its own while I was shooting the gun in a defensive situation. I don't even know if that is possible but I believe strongly in Murphy's Law. I am figuring I could get $250 - $300 for this one easily but like I said, it is one of only two 45s that I own.

I can easily sell the rifles and shotguns but am not too sure about how easy it would be to sell my pistols here in NY unless I sell them to a dealer. I'd like to avoid selling them to a dealer because they virtually always try to lowball anyone selling to them. If I sell them to an individual, I believe I still have to go through a dealer for two things - a NICS check and an FFL transfer (required I think by NYS law) even though a private sale. If I sell them to someone out of state, I have to go through not only an FFL on the buyer's end but I am pretty sure on my end too (again, I believe, because it is a pistol, that to be NYS law but I could be wrong and need to check on that). As for the rifles, even in a private sale, I have to go through a dealer for a NICS check on the buyer and some (as in most) of those dealers will not do that unless they also do an FFL transfer and charge for that too. Anything to do with guns and ammo, in the apparently less than constitutionally abiding totalitarian regime of Cuomoistan, is a major pain in the arse .

I am considering picking up a Henry Small Game Rifle lever action rifle in 22WMR and a Glock 19. Thus the reason I am considering selling at least some of those listed above. Of course, if lucky, I'll be able to save some money or hit the lottery and not need to sell anything.

All the best,
Glenn B

The Biggest Liar In The World

Snow White, Superman, and Pinocchio were out for a stroll. The came upon a theater with a sign that said, "Beauty Contest for the Most Beautiful Woman in the World."  Snow White said, "Wait here, fellas, I'm entering this one." After a short while, she came out and Superman and Pinocchio asked her how she did. "I won, of course," she said.

A short while later, they found a gym with a sign that said, "Strongest Man in the World Contest." Superman decided to enter. He came out a little later, and Pinocchio and Snow White asked if he had won. "Was there ever any doubt?," he replied.

They walked a few blocks more, and saw a club with a sign that read, "Biggest Liar in the World Contest." Pinocchio jumped at the chance to show his stuff. He went inside and entered. A while later, he came out in tears. "What happened?," asked Superman and Snow White. Totally broken, Pinocchio replied, "Who the hell is Hillary Clinton?"

A hat tip and my thanks to Mike McC for making me laugh with that one.

I Just Uncovered A Veritable Horn Of Plenty...

...,in my basement, when I came across an ammo can that I had stored, for some unknown reason although laziness comes to mind, away from all of my other ones. When I opened it I was quite surprised to find two boxes of 45ACP, six boxes of 308 WIN, 1 box of 12 gauge slugs, and several boxes of 22LR of three different brands.

The additional 22LR ammo amounted to just over 17% of the 22LR ammo that I inventoried a mere couple of days ago. Now that may, or may not, total a substantial amount of rounds of additional 22LR ammo that I was surprised to find out I had in my possession. Whether or not it is substantial is subjective and depends on what number of rounds you or I might think substantial. Yet, allow me to point out that if you suddenly discover that you have 17% more of anything of value than you had thought you possessed before the discovery, you should consider yourself very lucky indeed! I am feeling that way tonight - very lucky - for having that additional 17% of 22LR ammo in hand. That my friends is a good thing.

I am a firm believer (almost as an invariable rule but not quite as an absolute) that no good deed goes unpunished. For once, at least, it seems that doing a good deed has gone unpunished and I have actually been rewarded. I was looking through my belongings to find items I  probably will be donating to my local herp society, the LIHS, for its upcoming annual auction next month (our only fund raiser). I pulled something off of a shelf and there it was, that out of place ammo can! What a pleasant find. I think I'll have shot to celebrate now that I have already put the ammo away.

It Goes Right Along With Everything TSA Doesn't Know

Really, it should not surprise anyone that TSA is pretty much clueless about anything that has to do with transportation security because after all, it all too often appears that: they don't know how to select folks for pat-downs or more invasive searches based upon a hunch, let alone based upon reasonable suspicion; they don't know a thing about how to perform their duties consistently with all due courtesy and respect toward air passengers; they don't know how to properly handle situations with uncooperative passengers without inflaming the situations; they seemingly don't know how to properly train their own staff and what have you.

So, when it was recently reported that they have little to no idea as to whether or not their bomb detection equipment is functioning properly or even working at all - why would it surprise anyone! More here.

As If I Don't Already Receive Enough Email Advertisements From...

...Sportsman's Guide, today I received a Sportsman's Guide advertisement in an email showing the sender as The Firearm Blog. Normally when I receive an email from another blogger, I open it to read it because I expect it to contain correspondence specifically pertaining to me or my interests or to that blog from whence it came. I certainly do not expect to open such an email to discover it is an advertisement for a third party, nor do I need or want to have to start scanning the title of each email from other bloggers to try to determine if they are advertisements or not. That was about the most uncalled for and unwelcome spam email I have ever received if only because it came under the guise of an email from a firearms type blog!

I sent off an email to TFB to try to determine if they actually sent it out (instead of a spammer or hacker using a similar mail address to theirs) and to find out how I can get myself off of that spam email list without blocking all email from TFB. I am hopeful this is not going to become a major pain in the arse with other bloggers trying to earn a few pennies by sending out spam advertising under the guise of their blogging email addresses. If nothing else can do it, that will kill off my linking to blogs, which take up that spam practice, faster than a speeding bullet would bounce off of Superman's chest.

Pubic Hair From Trees!

Vic Dibitetto gets it right about a springtime scourge here in the NE. My friggin car was covered in pollen on Sunday (still is cause I am not about to wash it) and also was had lots of pubic hair from trees on it too. They stick to everything and are just about as annoying as a pube caught in your teeth but at least with the pube you know you got it by eating something you enjoyed. With all this crap from the trees all you get are allergies and a big mess.

Firearms Safety Rule #1: Mind Altering Drugs/Alcohol & Gunpowder Do Not Mix

That mind altering drugs/alcohol and gunpowder do not mix should always be considered one of the primary rules, if not THE primary rule, of firearms safety. You should not handle guns after having imbibed alcohol or taken mind altering drugs. The reasoning behind that claim is simple. Once you are under the influence, to any degree, of alcohol or drugs your judgment and your ability to pay attention to things goes to shit is incapacitated.

Take for example this past Saturday's case of the young man who reportedly pointed a new shotgun at his younger cousin and then pulled the trigger. He allegedly shot his younger cousin in the face. This was allegedly done while they were talking about hunting and after he had had a few beers. The younger cousin is now dead, he passed away yesterday. (Source.)

Your attention to all the rules of firearms safety can go right out the window, faster than a speeding bullet, if you are stoned, and that without you even realizing it. Stay safe and keep others safe too - don't drink or take mind altering drugs and handle firearms (or ammunition or its components) - otherwise the next funeral you attend may be for one of your family members or another loved one.

BBQ Safety Again

Just another thought on BBQing safely this season. Before firing up your grill for the first time in awhile, you may want to assure that the bores of the burners are not clogged with anything. I started up my grill about 3 years back and the main burner lit right up. I turned on the other burners and most of them lit right away but one did not. I walked away thinking it would light in a moment. I guess I was kind of, sort of, almost right. One of the burners must have been almost completely clogged and had gas build up inside of it. It was enough to explode once some of it leaked out and ignited from the other burner flames. Luckily for me, I was probably inside grabbing the steaks and not fucking with the grill at that moment, I imagine it could have done a number on my hands or my eyes if hit by pieces of the burner tube.

When I checked online as to why that would have happened, I found out the main culprit is usually a spider that has spun a web inside the tube of the burner. Amazingly, sometime later, when I inspected the piece that remained attached to the grill (a piece about 1/2 to 3/4 the length of it it had blown off in the mini explosion) there were the remains of a cocoon like web inside of it, like one of those that spiders build to hide inside. That stuff is tough.

It would have been cheap enough to replace the burner but that grill was several years old, quite the mess (lots of it rusted like the screws that secured the burner tubes) so I got a new grill. Now I turn them on, first without trying to ignite them, and sniff and listen to determine if gas is coming out of them as it should (and before doing so, I assure there is no ignition source nearby). If the gas is not flowing, or if a burner does not light right away (that is once I have finished the sniff/listen test), I will inspect it for obstructions. I would take them off each time to check them but it is a royal pain in the arse with my current grill.

I Wonder - Was He Cuffed Hands Behind His Back...

...or did they have him cuffed in front on his way to the jail, that being after they first suspected he might be concealing something in his crack of doom. I would hope in front with a chain around his waste to which to secure the cuffs. Anyway, it has been reported, that when Darquan R. Lee was arrested last week, in NJ, police suspected something was foul when he requested to use the restroom but then refused to use it once the officers told him it would be searched before and after use. He was subsequently taken to jail and the officers advised jail personnel that they believed he was stashing something in his crack. A search by jail personnel revealed a loaded 25 caliber pistol shoved between his cheeks and apparently partially within his anus. Talk about living dangerously.

I wonder, had the pistol managed to somehow discharge while it was so concealed (which may have gone unnoticed by police until too late because the sound may have been silenced, or at least muffled, if the bore was up his wazoo), would claims of police brutality, chants of killer cops & hands up don't shoot, and race riots have ensued. I mean, could you imagine the police officers, who would have been involved, trying to explain that one and get folks to believe them. Had it gone off, I am pretty sure that there would have been: claims being made of how saintly had been Darquan, at least one town burning in NJ and several cops charged with murder or manslaughter by now.

Some Folks Walk Around In A Cloud...

...and sometimes it is of their own making. Folks like that are probably not cut out for a life of crime. Take for instance Michael K. Meadows, whom it is reported walked into a business and sprayed pepper spray at the employees - then walked into the cloud of the mist he had just created with the pepper spray. It incapacitated him so much so that he fled the scene without any loot. He was captured by the police, not too long afterwards, apparently after the driver of the getaway car dropped a dime. HAPPY MOTHERS' DAY

Now that I have wished you all a Happy Mothers' Day, I am going to go eat breakfast. Then I am going to go out and search for a store where I can buy my wife and also my mother-in-law a mothers' day gift. I remembered, at about 0130 this morning, that I had not done so already. Oh the shame of it all....but only if I get caught.

More blogging tonight - maybe.

Quick Inventory of 22 Rimfire Ammo

I took a quick inventory of the .22 rimfire ammo, I have around, that was easy to find. (Meaning there could be more somewhere out of sight in an ammo can in the back of the closet or wherever).

After getting it done, I figured I had best stop reading gun forum threads on availability of .22LR ammo and need to stop visiting gunbot.net. It's not that I have a gazillion rounds of .22LR, or anywhere close to that, but I think I may have enough, at least for now. I think what I have on hand of .22LR will last me a few range trips and maybe also a few hunting trips. All I'll admit to I having more that a single box of 50 rounds and less than 30 bricks worth of .22LR ammo and I am tight lipped so to speak mostly because no one needs to know how much I have on hand - especially Obama, Cuomo and or their henchmen.

I will readily admit though that I have one single 100 round box of CCI .22 Short (CB Cap). Who cares who knows that? (It was a rhetorical question, don't answer it. Believe me, I know ho might be interested to know how much ammo I have on hand.)

I also have a decent number of .22WMR (.22 Magnum) rounds. Again, enough .22WMR to last a few range trips and maybe even a few more hunting trips - more than a 50 round box and I'll admit to less than 5k rounds of it. Mind you, that could mean 51 rounds, 5 boxes of it, 10 boxes of it or all the way up to 4,999 rounds. I am not telling, again for the same reason. I will note that I found a box from a brick of .22WMR (not even hinting if there is any ammo left in it) and the price on it was $70.00. It was from a 2012 purchase. Imagine getting it for that price now - yeah right.  Nowadays it is selling for about $150.00 per brick, plus shipping, and that is the lowest price at which I could find it in an online search I did while writing this post.

Getting back to .22LR ammo, I have heard that Dick's Sporting Goods may have CCI Mini-Mags in stock. That may require a trip to their store on the way to my daughter's house tomorrow for Mother's Day festivities. Not that I plan to buy any of it but because I need to get each my wife and mother-in-law a Mother's Day Gift. I may find something for my wife there and then may just have to stop by the gun counter to see if they actually have any of the Mini-Mags. Just out of curiosity though and as I said already - not to buy any. As I said, I think I have enough at least for now.

Then again, isn't tomorrow not now, at least until then, when by then it becomes now, but right now tomorrow is not now, and by then when tomorrow becomes now, I may not have enough now by then? Yeah, now I feel better.

Big Brother Has Been Indoctrinating Us With The Media...

... for a long time. They have hammered away at folks my age with entertainment television, specifically cartoons, since I was a toddler. I remember that every Saturday morning, I would get up really early to watch the first cartoon that played each Saturday, which was Colonel Bleep. I did not realize it back then but do now see that it was nothing more than a leftist attempt at brainwashing kids into thinking that government control of the citizenry was a good thing. In fact, it probably was the first encouragement I received that swayed me to my eventual career as a federal agent. Just watch these couple of episodes and tell me, how could I resist! Note the theme running throughout these cartoons, that the Futuran Interplanetary High Command sent Colonel Blip to investigate us and it would all be an exciting adventure.

Notice in the second one shown here (not necessarily the second episode) Colonel Bleep faces off against Dr. Destructo who is armed with a Lunar Luger; this only about 13 years after the end of WWII and the fight against the Nazis. It immediately puts guns in a bad light unless it is a weapon in the hands of a member of the government, as Colonel Bleep is under the Futuran Interplanetary High Command! Yes, the brainwashing the left tried to ram into our heads started long ago.

Pretty ballsy of those leftists if you ask me. Funny though, while I became a fed, I never fell for all that leftist bullshit. Anyway, Colonel Bleep was the greatest - even better than Mighty Mouse and Superman.

Friggin Weathermen

I checked the weekend weather forecast yesterday. There was zero (0) percent chance of rain today I my area. I anticipated getting a lot of work done in the backyard to turn the soil, level it, add more soil and seed it for a lawn. So far, I finished turning the soil and moved about 800-900 pounds of topsoil to the backyard from where it sat next to the house. (I will now take this moment to again thank my son for buying a wheelbarrow which comes in handy even on our tiny lot; it surely saved my already aching back today.) That's it though - no more because of the rain. I'd really like to at least rake it out and maybe throw what new soil I have atop the old and maybe then rake that out too but it depends on Mother Nature cooperating. We'll see.

I Was Busy In The Garden And Missed It...

...so I guess I'll just have to wait for next year and to find out if it is going to sprout again. What? World Naked Gardening Day - what else!

Photo found here and apparent original source here. Reposted here for
educational purposes only to make you aware of the existence of this day.
According to the WNGD website, it most certainly is an annual event, the one I just missed was the 10th one they held. I guess no one in my neighborhood ever heard of it, at least no one within the view I get from my backyard since I certainly would have noticed.

And now, I need to get busy in the garden for at least a few hours but most assuredly not in the buff.

I Am Happy I Left That Shitberg...

...known as Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), Immigration & Customs Enforcement (ICE), Department of Homeland Security (DHS) when I did leave it in November 2011. I spent about 8 years and 6 months under DHS - first in the Bureau of Immigration & Customs Enforcement (until the FBI got peeved that the name contained the word bureau), then in ICE, then in HSI (when the ICE Office of Investigations was sick and tired of being associated with ICE, it changed its name to HSI, but ironically remained under ICE). ICE had one of the worst ratings, if not the absolute worst one, as to the morale of its employees as compared to other government agencies and it reportedly has stayed that way for years (source).

I spent 32 years plus in federal law enforcement, the first 4 in the Border Patrol, the next almost 20 in the U.S. Customs Service and the last 8 plus a bit in ICE/HSI. My last 8 years were miserable. Yes, I will admit, I think GWB fucked up big time by creating DHS but I must also point out that it got much worse under BHO. It was, in my opinion, the political arse kissing numbskulls put in charge of the department from the cabinet level positions, down through the ICE's management, mid-level management, down to some of the lowly group supervisors of the agency, that made it a miserable place to work. (I will note I had some excellent supervisors too but many on the job were not cut out to be managers other than at Mickey D's. ) Even some of the street agents were absolute arsehats (but not most by far). So, the lion's share of the blame goes to mismanagement and the lack of strong supervision. Supervision lacking, what was abundant was piss poor managing and that made working there really miserable. In all of my career, I never before had experienced an outfit with less understanding of its purpose, more floundering, less direction,  more politics, and sheer inept boobs in charge who tried to make things like basic round-ups of known wanted petty criminals look like major investigative achievements than I did during my time in ICE. In addition, as far as I could tell, disregard for the Constitution and the rights therein ran fairly high at ICE in some instances.

Now, while you may note I speak from personal experience, in the first person, it is not just me who feels that way about morale while having worked there. That there are many others who feel/felt likewise is evident in the fact that once again ICE reportedly rates at the bottom for morale among federal agencies as apparent in this quote:

"If the latest federal workforce employee survey is any measure, the Department of Homeland Security is the worst office Uncle Sam runs, and and its Customs and Immigration Enforcement agency is its least desirable post."  (Source.)

Do I miss ICE/HSI? Yes, a little bit but not very much at all, certainly nowhere near as much as I miss the Customs Service Office of Investigations, or the Customs Patrol Tactical Enforcement Division, or the Border Patrol; those were good agencies and excellent jobs. In fact, I miss almost nothing at all about the job at ICE if only because it truly sucked the goodness out of federal law enforcement work and destroyed the employee's desire to get the job done (that is if the employee could figure out exactly what was the job).

I do, however, miss many of the people with whom I worked; most were good at heart, moral, ethical and hard working law enforcement agents and personnel. God or Nature bless them and give them a better place to work, under a new and better administration, as soon as possible.

If you are wondering why I called it a "shitberg" in the title of this post: ICE had a poster made up showing a huge iceberg mostly submerged with the saying, as best as I can recall: "ICE—What you see is just the tip of the iceberg". My reply to that was that only ICE floated lower than shit. How true that thought seems to have been for so many of its employees, based upon their repeated low reviews of morale while working there, is a shame. Sadly, despite the grand purpose that was underlying the creation of DHS and ICE, ICE seemingly has turned out to be little more than a travesty of  professionalism among all other federal law enforcement agencies.

A Few Of My Favorite Blogs

A few of my favorite blogs and bloggers:

1. Knuckledraggin My Life Away There may be a better overall blog on the Internet that combines patriotic content, gun stuff, snarky remarks on current events, images of camel toe & titties, and humor but I have not found it. Wirecutter (Ken) is a proclaimed IIIper and I am sure will be a Iper should the SHTF in the form of a national crisis spurred on by tyranny or a societal breakdown. At great risk to me of being spied upon by the NSA, DHS, FBI and whomever else - this is probably number one in how often I visit any blog.

2. Double Nickel Farm I don't visit Jen's site nearly as often as Wirecutter's but I enjoy it, more than any other blog I visit. Jen is a true and dear friend even though we have only met via the net; so, anything she writes is of interest to me. She helped me out spiritually, morally and inspirationally when I was down in utter misery with stage 4 C. I don't know if I can ever express my thanks to her and her family as much as I owe them. She is truly an excellent friend, wonderful mom, great patriot, decent to excellent cook and one heck of a farmer (and now a budding artist too). She, her husband Bill, and their children (now all grown) are in my heart forever.

3. MArooned: One of the most well written blogs on the Internet with lots and los of firearms content and commentary of current events. I would imagine that Jay G was able to land his job at the NRA, at least in good part, due to this blog. Jay is also a friend, a good one at that. We have only met a few times (think Northeast Blogger Shoots and another in West Virginia) but I think we have developed a good bond in person, via our blogs and by way of Kilted To Kick Cancer (in which Jay kilts up annually). He also co-hosts The Squirrel Report on Thursday nights; the show is worth a listen.

4. Cap' Bob & the Damsel and The Wandering Minstrel  I combine both of these blogs as one essentially because they are a husband and wife thing. I met Bob and Damsel (I am embarrassed I cannot remember Damsel's real name) out in Arizona, I guess it was in 2009. Two very nice people who blog about firearms, politics, astronomy (especially about happenings on old sol), flora and fauna of AZ and on their lives in AZ in general. I have visited AZ numerous times for extended periods and short trips alike, and love the memories that are stirred within my psyche each time I see a photo of a cactus bloom, or of a reptile, mammal or bird native to the state of Arizona on either of their blogs. I think they were the first bloggers I ever met in person and have to say they are very nice folks indeed.

5. The Feral Irishman Yet another darned good blog with the right leaning libertarian political stance and patriotism as a couple of the main themes mixed in with some great humor and some excellent images among other things. Friday Femme Fatale is also one of my favorite  the blogs extremely enjoyable features. Damned blog takes a virtual cyber-forever to load but is well worth the wait.

All the best,
Glenn B

To SG and Others...

...and you all know who you are. Please stop sending me your repeated emails and comments asking to me to link to your blogs, or to write posts for your blogs, or to place advertisements for you or your affiliates here on my blog. I do not do requests.

I appreciate that some like TG would like me to write an article about firearms or firearms related gear. I have considered doing it now and then but have not yet, except for the Firearm Blog, and probably never will again do so unless I initiate it. So TG, give it a break and please stop sending me emails.

As for SG (not a typo, I mean SG not TG in this instance), yes especially to you SG, you sir are a pain in the neck (to put it mildly) with your repeated comments and emails in which you all but beg to be included in my blog roll. You are so much of a pain in the neck that if I could somehow blacklist your blog, I would consider doing so. I have told you "...no..." before in response to your requests. Yet you do not take 'no' for an answer. Persistence will not get you what you want with me since I do not intend to give a link to your blog.

Has my previous answer of "no" been so difficult for you to comprehend that your must keep sending me your requests or is it you are just that full of yourself and that much of a spoiled brat that you think pestering me with your arse kissing will make me break down? No matter how much arse kissing you do, with your repeated and annoying form letter type emails and blog post comments (yes I have discovered you send virtually the same arse kissing requests to other bloggers), I am not about to link to your blog. So take this as more than just a hint and please stop making a nuisance of yourself.

Thanks,
Glenn B
