Asian Delight - Deadly Delight

Yep, eating puffer fish, while often a delightful tasty morsel, all too often winds up being a deadly Asian delight. I am willing to bet that trying to take a bite out of this other Asian delight could also prove to be a deadly delight depending on her mood.

Imagine comparing her to a puffer fish, I must be out of my mind.

FUCK THE HOLIDAYS...

...and all the assholes that come with them. I am happy the so called holiday season is halfway over and am truly looking forward to it being over. Thank god New Year day is the last one for quite the while (no I do not celebrate the year of the many or scaly critter, aka: lunar new year). One more holiday weekend and then there is nothing for me to celebrate until Ground Hog Day. I celebrate that one because almost no one else does, at least around where I live. Ground Hog Day is the definitely the best one - no pressure at all, no gift buying or giving, no big dinner, no asshole relations over for whom you have to act nice even though you despise them, no trips to see anyone, you don't even have to wish anyone a happy this or merry that - there is no anything, unless you want to do it for yourself and yourself alone (well, and maybe for the rodent known as the Ground Hog). Thus the reason I will celebrate it better than all the rest. Even Festivus cannot compare to Ground Hog Day - not in any way, shape or form. Ground Hog day is most certainly the best of all holidays! As for the rest of em, fuck them.

Yeah, that's right something put me in a foul mood this holiday season, the same thing that can put me in a foul mood any day of the year - and she does not even have to try. The holiday season sucks regardless of how bad she makes it though, I am finally convinced of that (the holidays need no help from her at all, but oh how she can make it worse).

All the best,
Glenn B

A Little Bit Of Luck For Christmas

Usually, if not for really bad luck, to mediocre luck at best, I would have no luck at all. That was a little different this Christmas. We did the Secret Santa thing for our second year at it and my brother-in-law, Alex, picked my name out if the hat and so had to get me a present as my Secret Santa. I wrote a few things down in my wish list and one of them was a gift card for TargetSportsUSA.com.

As it wound up, he somehow was told I wanted a gift card from Target's sporting goods department. So, off he went to the local Target store to get one for me. A clerk told him to go to front of store where they had all the gift cards and that was what he did.

That I was when my good luck came into play; there were extremely long lines for the checkout counters and Alex in essence said "to heck with this" and left the store without a gift card for me. He wound up giving me cash and told me the story. He was as surprised to find out I had written down TargetSportsUSA.com as I was to hear that he almost got me a gift card at a Target store. I cannot even imagine them having a sporting goods section, let alone selling anything firearms related as I planned to get from TargetSportsUSA. I don't know which was the better present, the cash or the good luck but I am very happy I got both. I hope you had as merry a Christmas as did my family and I.

All the best,
Glenn B

MERRY CHRISTMAS

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

There is, for me, no other way to say it better than just those two words said with the meaning that I intend they convey from me to you.

This Paucity Of Blogging...

...has mostly been due to me working virtually full time, so my blogging has mostly been on the weekends. If I missed it on a weekend it was because I was hunting. Add to that I have been doing what Christmas shopping I can get done and that just about explains it all as to why I have not been blogging much. I'll probably get back to daily blogging by mid January when I expect my work hours to be cut drastically. Anyway, I'll do some blogging, and a fair amount of it, this long weekend or at least I'll try.

Later4U, I have to wrap gifts. I asked Santa Claus to send me some help to that end and all he sent was a couple of distractions but oh what distractions.

A Brace Of Blue Steel Revolvers...

...would have made this photograph all that much better, don't ya think?

All the best,

I Hardly Ever Make New Year's Resolutions...

...mostly because I know I will not keep them. I am somewhat tempted though to do so this year just to see if it does any good in getting me out of my personal rut, so to speak. As it is now, and has been for way too many years, I often get a great idea to do something and while I may take some steps toward whatever end I have in mind, I often, and all too often at that, put it off until it just does not get done. In other words, I'd like to do more of what I currently just keep thinking and dreaming about. I will be making some New Year's resolutions with that goal in mind. Yeah, I know, I can make all the resolutions I want and nothing will change but I am hopeful that I will stick to my number one resolution.

Start Doing and Stop Procrastinating:  This will be my number one resolution. In essence it will be to take action on my plans and to cut out my procrastination simply by getting those things put into motion as soon as I think of them and completed as quickly as possible within a reasonable amount of time.

So, what else is there that I would like to include within my New Year's resolutions, what are the things I would actually like to get done?

Shooting: I would like to start shooting more often again. Right now I probably average about a half dozen or so local range trips a year and a few to far away ranges. I would like to start hitting the local indoor range at least once per month. I am none to sure I will wait until after New Year's day to start this one, I may go this week or next if I can get the time. Truth is I had resolved to do so a few months back and actually started shooting more often but then work screwed that up. I was working part time, on call now and again as needed, but was asked to step in and cover  full time position until they hire someone new for that spot. That ate up a lot of my time and energy and I cut back on range time.

Exercise: My working also cut back on another thing I had resolved to do about 6 to 9 months ago or so and I have since stopped going to the gym. Granted, I walk about 3 miles per day back and forth to transportation to get to and from work and that helps but it is not the same as me hitting the treadmill at the gym and doing 4 to 5 miles on a moderate incline while working up a heavy sweat. This one, I think I will slide back into easily once I am no longer working what amounts to virtually full time. I also want to go hiking at least once per month, somewhere in upstate NY.

Lose Weight: This will be the most difficult of the three I have mentioned so far. I am at least 50 to 60 pounds above what I think would be my optimal weight. I have taken off up to 35 pounds before now, only to have it sneak back onto my waste line, so I know I can do it. The thing is, when I lost weight, I was away from home for a few months on work details when I was in LE. Losing weight is pretty easy for me when I am away from all of my normal stressors. As opposed to many who stop eating when stressed, I eat more and it is usually junk food. I am hoping I can find the strength to do it, the incentive to get me motivated - maybe I should just stand naked in front of a mirror and disgust myself with what I see. That should do it but maybe I should get away from home more to help with that even if only on the weekends.

Hunt & Fish: I love hunting and fishing but yet I cannot even remember the last time I went fishing. It has to have been at least a year ago, maybe more. Hunting, yeah I just went deer hunting but I missed out on earlier opportunities to do early season bear hunting, squirrel hunting and turkey hunting. I wanted to go hunting today but did not feel up to the 3 /2 ride to my hunting grounds. I am going to resolve to go hunting or fishing at least once per month and will combine those with hiking.

Treasure Hunting: This may sound like a nothing more than a fancy and maybe it is just that but I plan to get my arse in gear and use my metal detector on some of my hiking trips in areas where I know there are archaeological sites (well, at least sites with the remains of buildings from the late 1800s and early 1900s). I also want to start going to tag and estate sales again. It is something I enjoy but something I just stopped doing after my bout with cancer.

Be A Better Husband and Father: Don't all of us who have spouses and children want to be better for them! I can improve markedly in that department especially if I talk less, listen more and have more patience in all things. This will be the hardest to accomplish because it means changing my nature, one that has developed over the past 6 decades. I can do it tough, I have been improving slowly already but I want to accelerate it before I run out of time.

I guess that is it, besides one or two resolutions for self improvement that I will not divulge pubically or even to my family. I know what they are and what has to be done to rid some skeletons from my closet, so to speak, but it will not be easy for me.

My thanks to Zack over at The Next Chapter and this blog post that he wrote for giving me the inspiration to do some resolving of my own.

All the best,
Glenn B

So My Son Asked Me: "Did You Get Me In Secret Santa"

And it wasn't like he was really asking me, ore like he knew. So, I asked him: You seem to know the answer already, who blabbed". He told me that everyone else who is participating in our SECRET Santa deal this year told who had wound up whom to give gifs. Too say the least, I don't see why we even bother doing it, I thought it was supposed to be a secret. All the fun has drained out of it for me now that he knows I am was to be his Secret Santa. Mind you, he was not fishing either - he knew - and I know he knew because my wife and daughter were blabbing a week or so ago about it and asked me whom I had picked out of the hat. At least I have no clue who will be my Secret Santa, I did not bother staying around to listen to the blabber mouths.

Another thing, that disappoints me, as well as at least my son too, is that everybody (except me) wrote down only one ting they wanted as a Christmas present. The way it is supposed to go is that you write down at least 3 or 4 things you would like to get and based on that list, your Secret Santa gets you one of those gifts or something else along those lines. Of course, if your Secret Santa knows you well, he or she may get something entirely different that they know you would also like but it is best to stick to the list to keep in line with the gist of it. My son thought it pointless that almost everyone, including himself, wrote down one thing (he wants cash for his savings account).

Knowing who is your Secret Santa and virtually all of the participants writing down just one gift idea kind of takes all the fun out of it. Of course, I may put some fun back in to it by not giving exactly what my son wants but something else I know he will like. No way I am not having fun by giving some neat gifts for Christmas especially since gift giving is truly what Christmas is all about. Any Christian who thinks gift giving at Christmas is something that strays from the true meaning o Christmas should think again. Let me tell it to you my way, or better yet, let tell it the way God expressed it:

It was on that first Christmas that Joseph and Mary received the gift of an opportunity to board in the manger and on that day that God The Father gave the gift of His only Son to us as the Savior of mankind. Thus it was that night when the angels heralded the giving of the Gift to the shepherds "For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord" - it was and remains our best gift ever. That gift giving should continue, not just on Christmas, but on any day, is supported by the fact that the wise men (number unknown but often said to be three) bore gifts to the Christ Child after his birth after they themselves had received the gift of a star, a sign in the heavens, to guide them. Right up until the moments before the death of Jesus, God gave gifts as can be witnessed by Christ giving his body and blood to us in the form of communion, and told us to continue to do so. It is a gift giving practice still practiced over two thousand years later by the Christian churches of the world. Yes, if you miss the fact that gift giving is what Christmas is all about, that it is indeed the essence of Christianity, I truly believe that you miss the whole point of it.

Merry Christmas to all, that is my little gift to you.

It Finally Feels Like Winter Around Here...

...as it is about 37 degrees right now but the winds are making it feel like 28. I am not opposed to winter although I must admit, I do not like feeling cold although I like going outside when it is cold (such as when I hunt, this year being the warm exception).

Anyway, up in this area is - since you usually go out and hop in the car to go to most places, then get out and go right inside, then back in the car to get out and go right inside your home - you don't usually dress appropriately for the temperature because you don't get a chance to feel it. If you get stuck outside at all, you get colder than you should be getting. I usually have an extra sweater in the car and a hat and gloves in my coat pocket in case I need them. When I go out walking any distance, like in the mornings on my way to the train station to get to work, I get dressed appropriately though try not to overdo it so I don't roast during the walk or once on the train. of course, if I ever get stranded anywhere in the general area, there are bars about every two or three blocks and I can always warm myself up with some fine spirits before continuing my journey.

I won't have to worry about feeling cold all that much after tomorrow though, at least for this week. It looks like spring will be sprung again and we will have an Indian Summer for the rest of the week. On Monday the weatherman promises temps in the 50s again with temperatures rising throughout the week to a high of about 66 on Christmas Eve. Doesn't look like snow for Christmas either, it's supposed to hit 56 that day.

I Strongly Support The First Amendment...

...the one that enumerates some of our most important rights. That first one sits atop another equally important second one. The second is equally as important, even vital to us, in that it assures we maintain the capability to defend the first one from usurpers of our rights and liberties. My political leanings thus are well expressed by the sentiment on this young lady's shirt:

Yes, as her lawyer said,...

...there probably was a misunderstanding. In her alleged attempt to bribe a Customs & Border Protection Officer, she seemingly misunderstood the concepts of true government service and integrity, on the part of the CBP Officer, and apparently thought she could easily corrupt him. A hat tip to the CBP Officer for not being one of the rotten apples in the basket but one of the best instead! See more here.

Why Do Female Islamic Terrorists Surprise Anyone?

I think I have said it recently before today but I will say it again, I am amazed that anyone is surprised when a female commits and act or acts of islamic terrorism (fuck no I will not capitalize islamic when referring to islamic terrorism). Women have been known to be taking active roles in ilamic terrorism for years now; yet, when we witness something like the recent terrorist attacks in Burbank - way to many of us seem shocked that a woman played a part in the carnage. It happens time and time again and we need to wake up to that fact. There are indications of it all around us, here is one of the latest.

The figures appearing in this photo are all reportedly Islamic women who were
raised in the USA and Australia and are dead set on Jihad against those countries.

We also need to wake up to the facts that terrorists are already here in the USA, they have been here for many years awaiting the right time when their numbers are high enough to stage more attacks. In addition, we need to slap ourselves in our faces and wake up to the realization that we need to sharply curtail if not outright stop the influx of Muslims into this country who would harm us. The easiest way to do that would be to stop all Muslim immigration, another way would be to give them all lie detector tests (although it would not be as sure a method as stopping all immigration). If moderate Muslims decide that means we are at war with islam, then so be it - islamists are the ones who started it and who continue it no matter what. History is my witness as to that last statement.

Maybe The Nigerian Military...

...gets it, and realizes how the problem must be addressed, while most of the rest of the world is missing it. Then again, maybe not but my bet is that is what it will boil down to in the end - one side will slaughter the other. See this:

http://www.foxnews.com/world/2015/12/15/hundreds-killed-in-nigerian-military-raid-on-shiites-shrine-home-bulldozed/?intcmp=hplnws

The winner may well be the side more willing to kill the other. The big difference between the Nigerians and the rest of us who are also plagued by terrorism is that they apparently realize, without any political correctness interfering, who is their enemy and they are willing to go all out to defeat them.

Speaking Of Crossbows...

NO...

...I did not get a deer this season. Yet, hope lingers on as the muzzleloader/crossbow season is open until December 22 in NY's southern zone. That means, if I can get away this weekend, I'll have another chance with the crossbow. I can go out in the woods and get all sorts of Daryl and such (reference The Walking Dead). Well maybe not all sorts, he is ripped and I am a fairly flabby fracker, but you get the idea - me in the woods, looking to kill, with the crossbow and all.

If I think of it, I will bring along the ,metal detector too. There is a secret spot out in the woods I want to go over that I am fairly certain has not been much disturbed if at all.

So Here I Am Hunting In My T-Shirt...

...with a blaze orange safety vest over it. Had to take of my jacket because I was working up a sweat since it is 60 degrees here. Yes, I mean now as in 1430 in the afternoon of December 13th. I have hunted this area, during deer season, for over 30 years.there have been some kind of warm days but I cannot recall it ever being this warm around here at this time of the year.

Heard one deer creeping around me and grunting. It seemed loud enough to have me think it was well within 40 yards but I never saw it. Figured it was a young buck from the sound of it. Oh well, just under 2 hours until the season closes.

No Deer In The Woods But...

...there was a deer dear behind the bar tonight. The dear behind the bar was Danielle. She was the barmaid at a bar/restaurant, the name of which I cannot recall, in Binghamton, NY tonight. She was just a very nice server and a very nice young lady. She also just happened to serve me the biggest piece of fish I have had in a restaurant in a long time. I am not a typical fish & chips sort of guy but ordered it tonight. It was very spicy and absolutely excellent and was a huge portion for a decent price ($14). Danielle simply made it better.

Danielle simply was the nicest barmaid I have met
anywhere in a long time. Add to that some good
spirits, ales and a great meal and I was a happy man.

Who knows, maybe I will find a dear deer in the woods tomorrow!

All the best,

I May Just Have To Add This...

So Why Am I Still Here...

...since I said I wanted to leave for hunting by 1000. The mother-in-law beat me to the shower. My guess is I have another half hour wait for it. I guess I should never have hesitated by stopping to blog.

Oh well,

Well, I Was Going To Go On A Hunting Trip....

...and figured to leave my house by 0300. I even got to sleep at about 1830 last night but by 2015 the noise my son and his drunken buddies were making while watching The Hobbit awakened me. I only got back to sleep well after 2000 hours. I figured I would get enough sleep by 0500 or 0530 and head out then and still get enough hunting time in today to keep me happy even though it would have taken me at least 3.5 hours to get to where I hunt. At 0200, the alarm on my phone went off. I forgo to reset it when I went back to bed! Awakened once again, damn. While in a fairly deep slumber, at about 0300, I felt one of our Chihuahuas jump off of the futon as she climbed over me. That was immediately followed by the unmistakable whine of Abby, our long haired Chihuahua. It was the I gotta go pee whine. So I let her out to do her thing. Then it was back in the sack for me.

I tossed and turned after that for quite the while and at about 0400, not long after I got back to sleep, I was awakened again - this time by a pain in my right knee. It was either caused by the gout or some mystery illness that has not been diagnosed by my docs yet. I am betting it is gout, so I got up and took a Colcrys and crawled back onto the futon. Somewhere in all this mess, I have a foggy recollection of having watched an old B&W movie, One Way Passage with William Powell and Kay Francis. At about 0600, I woke up again, this time Abby was giving me the I want to eat whine. Unlike our four other dogs, she is a whiner, you can safety bet she has one for almost everything. So, I got up, dragged Pepe (our male Chihuahua) out from under my blanket and let him out. Then I fed Abby. When Pepe came back inside I fed him too. My knee was aching some but not as bad as before. Anyway, it was hurting enough I figured I had better take it easy. I went back to bed craving a few hours sleep.

I got up about an hour ago. Note I did not say I awoke an hour ago; that is because I was laying there in bed trying to sleep for the two or so previous hours with no luck. I had been in bed watching a couple episodes of The Rifleman. All that lever action action got me thinking about my Marlin 336  and hunting. So I finally dragged my arse out of bed and upstairs to make some breakfast. Had a couple of scrambled in coconut oil, a piece of corn rye bread (not a spec of corn in it) and a nice cup of Joe. Went upstairs after that to take a shower but the wife was in their, she said she would be five minutes, that was 10-15 minutes ago. Just sat down and decided to hit the blog since I have been absent way too long. I am still debating whether or not to go hunting. If I leave by 10, I can get there by 1330 or 1400 which would leave me a good 2.5 hours of legal hunting time today. Then I would also have all day tomorrow. Bending the knee back and forth right now (as I type), it is feeling better. Maybe I took the Colcrys in time to help reduce the pain. Ah, I hear the wife in the kitchen. I had better go climb into the shower before anyone else does. Then I think I will head out to upstate NY and see what happens. I can either hunt for deer or just sit under a tree in the woods and catch up on all the sleep I missed out on last night.

All the best,
Glenn B

The Nincompoop In Charge (NIC) Has Been Promoted To The...

I think many of us, and others across the world like ISIS and Putin, already believed that President Obama has been a pussy when it comes to standing up against terrorism, to foreign powers and is also one in general as he gives of a weak and effeminate air. If for some reason you never thought so before, then maybe you should listen to the words of Lt. Colonel Ralph Peters (Ret.) about what he thinks of president Obama in response to the speech Obama gave about terrorism a couple of days ago. This is priceless un-whitewashed truth.

Too bad that he was chastised by the Fox News butthead; let's face it, he described Obama's weakness as a leader and his lack of ability to grasp a situation perfectly.

Hat tip to Peter Q for the video.

The Sneak Attack On Pearl Harbor Happened Today In 1941...

...and the United States of America was brought into WWII because of a bunch of religious fanatics, who had extreme religious views about their god being the one god, and that they were at his beck and call to conquer or destroy the rest of the non-believing world as they saw fit and they saw fit to enslave, torture, maim and kill (all in the name of their god) in some of the most horrendous ways throughout history.

Yes, today is the anniversary of the sneak attack on Pearl Harbor by Japan. You may also recall, it took years of warfare plus two very large bombs, to in essence bomb them back into the stone-age, before they surrendered and gave up their religious fanaticism. From then onwards, all the way through today (and probably for many years to come), they have been at peace with us and with the rest of the world. They completely lost all desire to conquer and or destroy in the name of their god, in fact, they got rid of their god (as far as being a god went).

Funny how that worked after they were nuked a couple of times! I wonder if such a response to ISIS would end with similar results? My bet is yes there would be a similar end to a terrible aggression by a heinous enemy because too many of the enemy would have perished to allow them to continue.

Anyway, my prayers and all the respect I can muster go out to all those U.S. Servicemen and Servicewomen who were injured and or lost their lives on this day in1941.

The Knee

Both knees have been aching me lately, a fairly painful, deep, stiff, kind of sore ache.So too have my fingers, elbows, toes, ankles and hips been aching likewise. Add to that my right shoulder blade, with pains of another nature, and I am one poorly constructed bag of bones.

For the last week and a half or so though, my right knee has been in on and off then on again agony. I figured it was the gout brought on by a Thanksgiving Eve repast consisting of a 2.5 pound lobster, a couple to few beers, and whatever else I had that night. I did not go overboard on Thanksgiving. I ate a decent amount but nothing that is really bad for someone with gout. I did have a wee dram of Irish Cream Liquor but that was it for alcohol. Anyway, the next day I had a twinge. Then by sometime Saturday, I was hurting  pretty badly. I was in agony by Saturday night.

The second worst gout attack I have ever had is what it has been, well if it is actually the gout. I have been bitten by at least 5 ticks, of at least two different species, over the past two to three months. With all the aches in my joints prior to this supposed gout attack, I was wondering if I had contracted Lyme Disease for the third time. Went to the doc this past Friday for the knee because it was bad enough that I missed two days of work (a third day including today). She said she thought it might not be the gout (especially since the Colcrys had little effect) and would run some blood tests an have an x-ray done. I asked if we could hold off on the x-ray and she agreed it would be a good idea to wait until the blood-work came back because if it is all due to Lyme Disease then an x-ray is probably not needed. I know I have had more than my share of x-rays when I had radiation therapy a few years back. and don't need any to excess now.

I called the doc today and a nurse got back to me to say all the blood-work as negative; that was except for one test for which they had not yet received the results. That would be the test for the truly suspect malady - Lyme Disease. I asked when they expected it, and the gal at the other end of the phone hemmed, hawed and said 'uhhhhh, maybe within a week'. I am guessing she had no clue because I sure don't recall a test for Lyme Disease ever taking a week to be completed for me before. Oh well, hurry up and wait seems to be the thing today.

Even if it is still aching tomorrow, I am going to make my best effort to get my lard arse into work. I need to money to help support Santa Claus and his elves.

Don't Forget Folks, It's Almost Christmas

There are only this many days, hours, minutes and seconds until Christmas:

If you want to find any of these under your tree...

You'd need to be exceptionally nice to find
all of these gifts under your tree this year.

...you had best be very, very, very, very good in the little time you have left! I could think of nothing nicer than finding a new pistol, and some nicely wrapped ammo for it, under the tree for me. As for the sexy elf, what could I do with her at my age! I imagine though it might be fun finding out but of course that ain't gonna happen.

Wow - I May Have Gotten It Fixed

So far with the HP laptop, after the latest system recvovery I ran (this time from DVDs instead of from the Windows Partition on the hard disk) everything seems to be running smoothly. That is, it is running smoothly until it breaks again. I am keeping my fingers crossed that it will last, in good running order, until I have saved the money for a new one.

Edited to add: Let's see, though, what happens after I install MS Windows updates. Right now I am 55% through downloading 217 of 221 important updates. I imagine it will download and install the other 4 important updates after it installs the first 217 of them.

Sadly, It IS All Factual - Every Word of It

He goes about it in a light hearted almost comic manner although sadly there is truly nothing funny about it but he hits the nail on the head each time. By the way, each one of those nails are coffin nails in our coffin. Wake up America and destroy terrorism and all of its supporters whereever they raise their ugly heads.

A hat tip to Peter Q for that one, thanks again.

I Am No Computer Guru...

...but I am learning as I plod along taking chances with this one while trying to fix it myself. Amazingly, despite all the problems, it passed all the self diagnostic tests. Now, I am doing another system recovery but this one is very different. The others I ran all used files, that HP had placed in a partitioned area on the hard drive, to reinstall the operating system anew. I also had three DVDs to use for the same purpose but did not see how or when I could use them to do the recovery.

Well, the system just stopped booting at all and shortly after that it gave me the prompt to insert the media to reboot. I did it and it is now doing a system recovery from the first of those three DVDs. First it said it was formatting the drive (am I ever so happy I have a backup of my important documents and most of my photos). Now it says it is copying files. It is taking its sweet arsed time copying files and I imagine that means it is getting it done right this time or in other words that it is doing a complete rewrite of the operating system. I am not about to get too excited about it yet but if and when it has me insert discs 2 and 3 then I will believe I am making real progress. Otherwise, if this does not work, I guess I will be buying a new laptop.

HP Woes

It seems my laptop may be fried. I am running a System Tune-Up, which is not really a tune-up but a series of tests of things like the memory, PCI device, processor and the hard disk. It is going really slowly, slower than I remember during a past test when the hard drive was crapped out. Whatever, the darned thing keeps running slow, failing to update Windows, failing to boot and blue screens keep showing up. Norton said it is virus free. All that despite me running a system recovery and starting all over  five times, maybe six. Last time this happened, my hard disk was the culprit.

This and a previous HP Laptop have been the most problematic computers I have owned and likewise out of all computers I have ever used. To me, it seems HP = Shaite. I think I will go back to Dell after this or maybe some other brand but will not get anpther HP. I am only going to start saving for a new one now so, unless I can figure out and fix the problem soon,  I am going to be using my phone for all my Internet stuff for quite the time to come.

Why Does Anyone Express Surprise About Female Terrorists

After the latest terrorist attack on our soil, plenty of folks I heard talking about the incident expressed surprise over a female being one of the shooters. Same with the recent attacks in Paris, many seemed not only surprised but shocked that a woman was involved (at least in the aftermath) when she was blown to bits while wearing a suicide vest during a police raid.

Wake up America and smell the shit - it is not just their men but it is also Islam's women who want us dead and they have been training to kill us for a long time.

Out Of Warranty For Only 3.5 Months...

...and it is out of service again. The 'it' being my HP Pavillion laptop computer. I guess adding a Dell Alienware laptop to my Christmas wish list was reasonable; although, I suppose it unreasonable to expect to get one as a gift. It seems, I will have to improve my spending and savings habits before I can reasonably expect to get a new one. For now, I am trying to repair it myself and will depend on my phone for Internet use.

2206 Hours, Edited to Add: Many - many - many hours later, after writing the above, it seems to be working now but only after I ran 3 or 4 complete system recoveries. Hopefully the back-up I ran before doing the first recovery has worked. Right now I am running a virus scan of the drive I used to store the backed up files. If they are all clean, I will recover them to the hard drive tomorrow.

F' THE NY DAILY NEWS...

...is all I can say about that so called newspaper that I now believe to be worthy of little more than being used as an ass-wipe in an emergency. I have been buying what I have long considered a
leftist rag, for the past few months, just about everyday that I have gone to work. I didn't buy it to read what I thought were the sensationalist leftist articles, that in my estimation fill about 50 to 75% of its pages. I bought it only to do the word jumble and the crossword puzzles. From now on though, after their headline today, I am disgusted with it beyond my own belief.

Source: http://www.nydailynews.com/news/the-week

I am not big on religion, I am agnostic at best. I pray but only rarely and I do pray but not so much to any particular God but to whatever may be a higher power if there is one. I certainly do not worship any God. Yet, I respect they who do worship God and their right to do so, that is so long as their worship does not infringe upon the rights of others, especially in an intrusive or violent manner - as does Islam all to often. I also respect the beliefs of atheists and agnostics. Too bad the Daily News leftists stooges do not do likewise. They too, it seems, like Obama and the three stooges running for the democrat candidacy, cannot see beyond their leftist politics and use every crisis to its full political
advantage.

You can do as you like with the Daily News, I am not trying to sway you one way or the other as to whether or not you support them. Me though, I will no longer spend a cent on it.

The Left's Latest Calls For Gun Control...

...are shallow and purely political pandering to the left; it is all merely giving the leftists the anti-gun fix they crave at every opportunity. I state that as an absolute irrefutable fact as far as I can see it. One would think that in order for me to say so, I would need some sort of proof. I have it and so do you. In fact, that proof is slapping you in your face and doing it hard.

The NIC (President Obama), the potential NICs Hillary Clinton, Bernie Sanders and the other guy are all screaming for more gun control in the wake of the shootings in San Bernardino yesterday but, and this is the crux of m proof, they are not calling for anything else. For example, Obama vehemently defends his plan to allow 10,000 Syrian refugees into this country regardless of the fact that some will almost undoubtedly be terrorists. In addition, neither the NIC nor one candidate has called for the death penalty for people who commit crimes like this. Not one of those four has called for stiffer penalties for terrorists and let's face it - no matter what the motivation, this was an act of terrorism. Finally, not one of them has called for stiffer rules, regulations or laws regarding explosives and explosive devices such as IEDs and the house of the main suspect is being called an IED factory by law enforcement. Lest I forget, let me also add that not one of them can envision what would have taken place had 4 or 5 of the people among the victims been armed.

Obama (and the other three leftist stooges) can only focus on the shootings and gun control. The president and the other three apparently do not have the vision to imagine what would have happened had the terrorists used those explosives instead of, or in combination with, firearms. The three stooges running for the democrat nomination for the presidency, in my estimation, are not worthy of one vote let alone enough to be elected to the highest office in our nation. I truly believe that the current NIC, Obama, is an enemy of the United States of America in as much as he repeatedly fails to uphold his oath of office, and repeatedly acts in opposition to that oath, relative to the Constitution that he was sworn to preserve, protect and defend!

My prayers and condolences go to the families and loved ones of they who perished yesterday and my prayers and wishes for a speedy recovery go out to they who were injured but survived the carnage.

All he best,
Glenn B
