How Bud Light...

...ever became the best selling beer in the United States of America is absolutely beyond my comprehension because to me it is what I imagine chilled piss flavored water in a can would taste like. Yes, that is my opinion of Budlight and many other so called light beers - chilled piss flavored water in a can. In fact, I do not understand how any light beer could ever become the number one selling beer anywhere - they lack everything I think a good bier or ale should have such as a desirable and truly enjoyable tasty flavor, a flavor that is not only tasty but is hardy as well, and of course has at least a somewhat higher alcohol content.

Now they are reporting that it has fallen below the top ten beers in America to number 14; more at the source. To me this is quite understandable and I think it is not solely related to Bud Light deciding to praise an apparent female impersonator's first year of so called girlhood! So what else could be the cause for the continued downward plunge of the king of beers - well let's face it there are probably scores and scores of better tasting beers that folks have been discovering since they dropped Bud Light due to its, in my estimation, perverted advertising campaign instead of celebrating something like normality and or morality as opposed to celebrating the scientifically impossible perversion of nature as I think is gender change.

Let's face it folks, have you ever seen a huge corporation like Anheuser-Busch favor normality as a regular thing in their advertising? Now how could they have done that - well not by one of their latest commercials, as I understand it, showing a group of grunting supposed real men drinking it. Is that what they think of the customer base that they lost - that they are akin to what seems like a group of Neanderthal like grunting blockheads? Something a bit better might have been them running an ad campaign that celebrated heterosexuality, marriage, loving & normal parenthood (in other words not praising parents who want to lop off their children's' sexual organs), unity, patriotism, love of the United States of America, and maybe some commercials that praised hard honest work that granted promotions based upon skill as opposed to liberal ideals of equity for those who don't deserve it.

Let's face it, the mentality shown in Bud Light ads as of late should be obliterated - at least that is what I think about it. Had they just shown a gay guy or three enjoying it, that probably would have ruffled very few feathers but to have celebrated a year of so called girlhood for what is apparently is a biological male pretending to be a female - in the midst of all this insanity in which the left is willing to push for gender identity changes of our children - well they had to have known, had they used any common sense, that their ad campaign was going to be a big mistake. Therefor, it is pretty, pretty certain - at least as I see it - that those who run Bud Light and Anheuser-Busch are not in touch with their customer base nor are they in touch with reality of how the majority of folks in this country think nor are they in touch with the values of most Americans. Yet, they evidently keep screwing up as if unable to admit or even see the error of their ways.

Thus it would not surprise me if they don't fall further and if they will never be able to make a comeback to regain their throne at the top even if they drastically improved the taste of their product; and that I believe would serve them right. In fact, it would come as no surprise at all to me if they went out of business altogether before a year or two passes. They are, in my opinion, woke plain and simple but what they did not get is that woke is a fad for leftist loons. Instead of going woke - maybe they just should have woken up.

I Am Not A Flag Waver...

...but I do try to show respect for the American flag. After all, it is the symbol of our great nation from its founding, as expressed in the 13 stripes  representing the 13 original states, through today with the stars within the blue field, the Union, representing the union of all current 50 states (no Mr. Obama there are not 57 states).

So, when a merchandiser uses that symbol in an obvious attempt (as I see it) to solely attempt to increase profit  - on or around the founding day of our country July 4th -  I say fuck him I am not knowingly going to be buying a thing from that merchandiser. In this case, I specifically direct that opinion toward Troy Aikman.
Now that he owns a U.S. based brewery, he is placing American flags on the cans of beer he produces and trying to make it appear as if, or so it seems to me, he is being, and his beer somehow is, patriotic.

I do not mind businesses using images of our flag in advertising or on their products. What I mind is when they do it and then boast about doing it to appear patriotic when my guess is that the underlying reason they are doing so is to increase profit. The perfect example of such happening seems to me to be Troy Aikman appearing to be doing that right now just before Independence Day with his beer. More at the source

Mr, Aikman, in essence, has called out non US beer brands for doing so, putting an image of the U.S. flag o their products, but the thing is, he apparently is doing everything the same except that his company is based here within the USA. That, in my view, does not give him free license to exploit the patriotism, our flag or Independence Day.

I would think, a good and truly patriotic citizen, who knows how to respect our country, our flag and our Independence Day and who truly cares about them would never exploit them to such an extent as I think he is doing. I believe he is doing exactly that thought in order to increase his profit and to diminish the profits of other companies doing the same because their beers being made abroad.

As an American citizen (and I am assuming he is one), who apparently considers himself a patriot, I think he should hang his head in shame because while those foreign companies should not exploit our flag, I am of the strong opinion that a truly patriotic American Citizen should not do so either because a true patriot should know better, know enough about flag etiquette and care about our country enough never to do so himself in the manner that Mr. Aikman appears to me to be doing it right before Independence Day!

Beer and the Wheel - A Historical Essay

I've probably posted this here before or you likely have seen it elsewhere but it is always good to remind people of our history lest they forget and it is also good to tell our youngsters so they learn the important things about life. In keeping with my desire to further the education of one and all, here is today’s history lesson, with a little humor to liven it up.

 BEER AND THE WHEEL

The two most important events in all of history were the invention of beer and the invention of the wheel. Beer required grain and that was the beginning of agriculture. Neither the glass bottle nor aluminum can were invented yet, so while our early humans were sitting around waiting for them to be invented, they just stayed close to the brewery.  That's how villages were formed. The wheel was invented to get man to the beer and vice versa. These two were the foundation of modern civilization and together were the catalyst for the splitting of humanity into two distinct subgroups: Liberals and Conservatives.

Some men spent their days tracking and killing animals to BBQ at night while they were drinking beer. This was the beginning of what is known as the Conservative movement. Other men who were less skilled at hunting (called 'vegetarians' which was an early human word meaning 'bad hunter') learned to live off the Conservatives by showing up for the nightly BBQ's and doing the sewing, fetching, and hairdressing.  This was the beginning of the liberal movement.

Some of these liberal men “evolved” into women.  Others became known as girlie-men.  Some noteworthy liberal achievements include the domestication of cats, the invention of group therapy, group hugs, and the concept of democratic voting to decide how to divide the meat and beer that Conservatives provided. Over the years Conservatives came to be symbolized by the largest, most powerful land animal on earth, the elephant.  Liberals are symbolized by the jackass for obvious reasons.

Modern Liberals like special flavored beer (with lime added), but most prefer white wine spritzers or imported bottled water.  They eat raw fish but like their beef well done.  Sushi, tofu, and French food are standard liberal fare.  Another interesting evolutionary side note: many liberal women have higher testosterone levels than their men. Most college professors, social workers, personal injury attorneys, journalists, film makers in Hollywood, group therapists and community organizers are liberals. Liberals meddled in our national pastime and invented the designated hitter rule because it wasn't fair to make the pitcher also bat.

Conservatives drink real beer.  They eat red meat and still provide for their women.  Conservatives are members of the military, big game hunters, rodeo cowboys, lumberjacks, construction workers, firemen, medical doctors, police officers, engineers, corporate executives, athletes, airline pilots, and generally anyone who works productively.  Conservatives who own companies hire other Conservatives who want to work for a living.

Liberals produce little or nothing.  They like to govern the producers and decide what to do with the production.  Liberals believe Europeans are more enlightened than Americans.  That is why most of the liberals remained in Europe when Conservatives were coming to America.  They crept in after the Wild West was tamed and created a business of trying to get more for nothing.

Here ends today's lesson in world history.  It should be noted that a liberal may have a momentary urge to angrily respond to this post. A Conservative will simply laugh and be so convinced of the absolute truth of this history that it will be shared immediately to other true believers and to just piss-off more liberals.

And there you have it.  Let your next action reveal your true self. I'm going to grab a few beers and grill some steaks, right after post this.

I Bet Those Beer Bottles Cracked...

...or popped their tops and that the beer cans at least bulged out of shape if not popped open. I mean the ones my son left out in our garage; excuse me while I go check them.

Time goes by as I check...

I just checked. Heck, the Heinekens he has out there are not even frozen one bit, not even slushy, and the Fosters Premium Ale can is in perfect condition (it looked so good I almost popped it open for me). I don't get it, my garage is not heated nor is it insulated. I would have thought it much colder in the garage right now than in my freezer, and especially so last night when temps were in the minus numbers. Beers freeze in my freezer in almost no time (or so it seems time wise when I forget them in there for a half hour or so). Strange how they did not freeze out in the garage in this we'd better call it Climate Change, uber anti-leftist, Global Warming cold snap we are having.

Oh well, not complaining about that, it's a good thing. Maybe I'll have one later.

All the best,
Glenn B

Not A Bad Thing To Believe

Later for another beer for me, the gout is killing me right now, but it's really not a bad belief at all and I am sure I'll have another beer sooner or later.

Global Warming Slams Home In July...

...and man oh man is it warm outside. It's currently 89 degrees Fahrenheit, with 42% humididity - so it feels like its 91 degrees Fahrenheit. Can you imagine it feeling like 91 degrees in July! Maybe Al Gore was right, maybe we have doomed ourselves, oh nooooooooo.

Let me tell you, though it's hot, I have braved the heat. I've been out to the stores and the shopping is done, I took care of my animals and their cages, pen, and tanks are clean and they are well fed, I put a coat of polyurethane of the chest of drawers I'm refinishing, I've watered the flowers and the vegetable garden using watering cans (none of that wussy using a hose for me), I've pulled some weeds (though not too many because it really is warm), I took out the trash, and now I am waiting on the polyurethane to dry so I can hit the chest of drawers with another coat. What to do, oh what to do. Well I can get my animals ready for the herp show this evening at Gardiner Manor Park in Suffolk County, and and do have to get that done; but before I do it there is something else I need to accomplish.

What a better accomplishment than to make sure I survive this massive heat wave, this overwhelming spurt of global warming, this Curse of Gore. So I had better grab an icy cold beverage like a Hefe Weissbier, or a vodka spiked glass of lemonade, while there is still electricity coming in, allowing my fridge to run, making it possible for me to chill some beers, and to make some cubes to dip into my cocktails. Otherwise I might just start repeating the death knell of the Wicked Witch of the West: "I'm melting, I'm melting.....".

So what am I waiting for? Later for you....

All the best,
Glenn B

I've Been An Ale Man...

...But I've Never Been A Bud Man (yes I used to wear a Bud Man shirt back in the 70s). Yeah sure, I'll also admit to drinking Budweiser Beer now and then years ago, but I truly have tried to avoid it like the plague over the past decade or so, maybe even 2 decades. Why, well I guess one reason is because the name just falls prey too easily to being maligned - I mean who in Hades (or their right mind) would enjoy drinking a beer often referred to as Budwiper! Another reason of course is that Budweiser is like 'sex in a canoe'. If you don't know what I mean, well search that term on this blog.

Now though, we can speculate there may yet be hope for the American brew that thrills the taste buds of millions (and really I cannot fathom just how they do it with beer that is that f''ing close to water - there goes that sex in a canoe reference again). It may well wind up being improved, and I say this hopefully based upon the takeover of Anheuser-Busch by In-Bev a Belgian company ala mega-brewer. Now while Anheuser-Busch was also a mega-brewer, they just never quite made anything I would truly consider a great tasting brew. In-Bev, on the other hand produces one of the best tasting plisners I have had had the pleasure to pass over my taste buds; that would be Stella Artois. One can only hope that the Belgians will cause such changes to come about, that is changes toward making an American beer with some kick and some flavor.

Of course now one also needs to hope that the Belgians don't start closing down Anheuser-Busch breweries and moving operations overseas. The state of the U.S. economy is bad enough already with such problems being caused by the money grubbing executives at Anheuser-Busch selling out to foreigners. I would not take all of the beer in Germany (and man there are some absolutely excellent German Biers - one of which I am enjoying at the moment - a Paulaner Hefe Weissbier - mmm good) nor the $75 per share that A-B accepted from In-Bev if I thought it meant the loss of even one or two American jobs let alone improving the taste of Budwiper. I mean that would be un-American, and if it turns out to be the case - well then I think all of you nitwits who regularly drink that piss ought to stop drinking it. Yeah, I don't drink it, I did not support them, but I do support many American Breweries, and if need be, in order to stop the loss of American jobs I would have started drinking even the slop they passed off as beer to help prevent the takeover - that is of course had I known about it in advance, and had I suspected it would cause us to lose jobs. As it is now, I can only hope we will not lose jobs to Europe, and that Budwiper might be improved to something I consider worth drinking now and again.

All that "born on" crap and advertising money spent on the Clydesdales was apparently wasted when in fact, as I see it, the energy would have been better spent making it taste fantastic.Too bad Budwiper seemingly never got it right in the first place by brewing a truly great tasting product that would have kept them at the top of the heap and untouchable by furiners. Now the consequences, and hopefully they will be an improvement to the beer, while the jobs wind up staying here.

Al the best,
Glenn B
