Bill Dah-Blah-Zee-Oh Has Announced His Candidacy For The Presidency

"New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio announced Thursday morning that he will seek the Democratic nomination for president in 2020, saying President Trump "must be stopped."

De Blasio is the 23rd Democrat to officially announce a bid for the White House and the second this week following Montana Gov. Steve Bullock’s announcement on Tuesday." Source.

You know, if this utter asshole candidate winds up elected president, or if any one of the current democrats running this time around are elected, we will be well beyond the point at which we should have become revolutionaries.

So, do not worry about who is in the running - do not even consider another candidate from the Republican party or any other party. My advice, vote only for the reelection of the current president - Donald Trump. Should he choose not to run then vote for whomever he recommends. Seriously - I urge you to vote only for his reelection or for the candidate he recommends. If not, we are lost because if we split our votes, the libturds are sure to win and to destroy the good old US of A.

Don't forget how guys like me fucked up by voting for Ross Perot and then lived life under a Clinton for 8 years; and bear in mind, as bad as was he, he probably was better for America than any candidate the Dems now have in the running! Just try to imagine living under the administration of any of the leftist loonies running this time around and be afraid, very afraid, one of them could win if we split our votes.

Seeking Beretta 950BS Minx - 22 Short - Magazines

I am in the market for a magazine or two for my Beretta 950BS in 22 Short, also known as the Beretta Minx. I am only looking for magazines manufactured by Beretta - no after market mags. If anyone knows of a source, please let me know.

Thanks,

Beretta 950BS In 22 Short - First Impressions

Yesterday, I got to shoot the Beretta 950BS Minx in 22 short, that my son bought me as a gift and that will officially become mine once I relocate to AR as a resident.

We went to an indoor range. I only fired about 21 shots out of it but that was enough to get a decent first impression of it. As I expected, based on my experience with a few Beretta 950BS Jetfire models in 25ACP, I had kind of, sort of, more or less figured this would be much the same as far as how well it functioned.

I was on the money and at least for the few rounds I shot through it, it functioned flawlessly, it pointed well, it sights are usable but very small, it hits where you aim and hits where you point shoot at least at close range (I was firing at 7 yards). My groups were somewhat smaller than the size of my fist while firing at a moderate pace and trying to use the sights to the size of my open hand while point shooting rapidly. The amount of room in the magazine, front to back, when it was loaded was amazing. It looked like it would fit 22LR rounds in it. The 22 short is certainly a tiny round but even with all that room the rounds fed reliably each time, the little pistol went bang each time and the blow-back design extracted & ejected the spent casing each time. I was shooting CCI 22 shorts. Nice little gun for which I will have to find another magazine or three and hopefully all will be OEM since the aftermarket brand(s) seem to be abysmal as to reliability to feed. The thing is the OEM mags seem to be very difficult to come by.

I wish they had chambered these in 22LR as I do not like the Beretta M21A anywhere nearly as much as the 950B S.
Anyway, I like this little gun and most assuredly will have fun with it.

I'm Coming Out But Not From The Closet

I am a straight white agnostic male and I stand with the USA, I support those who want to enjoy the liberty to: gather & speak freely, print the truth, be religious or not so long as they do no harm to others because of their beliefs, belong to a political party so long as it does not seek to overthrow our legally acting government or disregard our Constitution, I tolerate those who choose to live a different lifestyle than my own even though I may not accept their lifestyle as normal (yes tolerating and acceptance are different), I think they who mutilate their bodies to become that which they are not are mentally ill and support assisting their seeking & obtaining mental health care and hope they do so, I believe you are what you are by way of nature and that no matter how hard you try you cannot become something other than male or female or hermaphrodite (transgender is nothing more than denial of reality) and it is about time people become realistic fairly sane adults, I believe most recreational drugs should be legalized but if you have a problem with drugs or an addiction to them then the problem is yours and it is not the government's responsibility and certainly not mine to help you, I decry they whose first act on a country’s soil is a criminal act, I despise politicians who legislate laws to infringe on the rights of citizens and legal residents while they support an invasion of our country by illegal aliens and who look to give benefits to criminals of all sorts at the expense of the law abiding tax paying citizen & legal resident aliens of our nation, I believe one needs to earn a living not get handouts (of what the government takes from the taxpayer) if physically able to do so, I believe in the right to work but also that you need to pay attention in school and strive to do your best to achieve a good education and ultimately land a decent job, I believe that a person who by way of honest work achieves more is the one who deserves more of a reward for that performance, I believe in being charitable to those truly in need but cannot tolerate freeloaders or think they are entitled to what is mine or yours, I am not a Democrat nor a Republic nor am I a Liberal nor a Conservative but rather tend toward Libertarian ideals, I believe the law should apply to every every citizen and legal resident alien equally, I believe the rights of the citizens and legal resident aliens of our nation apply to all of them equally, I do not believe illegal aliens should enjoy those rights equally as do citizens nor that they should enjoy the protection of our laws equally as they obviously hold little or no allegiance to our nation or Constitution, I truly believe that while government is necessary it is all too often the problem and it needs to be reigned in severely, I believe that government officials who routinely violate the rights of the citizenry or otherwise violate the Constitution should be removed from office and swiftly prosecuted under the law and banned from further government service, I believe government servants are just that - servants of the people - both in the military and civil service, I believe politicians are our servants and not our masters and that they need to be reminded of it and sternly so if necessary, I believe in 2-4 year long (at most) two term limits for all politicians, I believe in liberty and true justice for all, I believe the Constitution of the United States of America to be the most perfect legal document ever written subsequent to the signing of the Declaration of Independence, I have sworn to uphold & defend the Constitution (as written - not as interpreted by the whims of the times) against all enemies foreign and domestic and just because I have retired does not mean I have forgotten or abandoned that oath or my responsibility to it, I am a free man or at least intend to live as one.

What about you?

Getting A Small Taste Of Freer Living In AR

Yesterday, I stopped by Academy Sports and picked up a Glock magazine for the Glock 21 I had sent to my son, via his FFL, some months back. The Glock 21 is in 45 ACP and comes with 13 or 10 round magazines. Of course, being I got that pistol in NY, I could only legally purchase it with 10 round mags. My son has been looking for a good deal on the 13 round mags ever since and the lowest price he found them for was at a gun show for $30. I had thought it was too bad he did not get them at that price. Yep, they can be had less expensively online for the mag itself but then there is that thing called a shipping fee and of course you have to wait for them. Not much of a difference, with shipping added, if any. Thus not worth the cost with shipping when you consider the wait.

I stopped by Academy Sports in Benton yesterday and saw them for $3o each. They had two but I only got one. Happy that is all I got.

Today we went to Arkansas Armory, a range in North Little Rock, and had some fun shooting my pistols in 45 ACP (2 Glock 30s, a RIA 1911 and a Remington R1 1911) and Brendan's Beretta M9A3 wearing its Silencer Co. can and also the Beretta 950BS Minx in 22 Short he bought me for a gift (still his until I establish residency here). While I only had 200 rounds of 45 ACP, that I picked up at Academy Sports along the way to the range, it was enough for a good time betwixt father & son and it sure beat going to a range in NY because there was no way we'd be shooting a gun with a silencer on it up there legally.

After that, we stopped in Wildman Arms, a gun store I had been wanting to visit over the last few times I was here but never got around to before. Brendan had told me they were quite expensive; so, imagine my surprise when I saw they had two 13 round Glock 21 magazines for $24.99 each. I bought them both. Brendan then reminded me that Academy Sports has a price match policy and said they may refund me $5.00 on the one I bought from them if I show them the receipt from Wildman Arms. I'll give it a try.

An intelligent rule for sure.
Anyway, as for those Glock 21 mags, the price was right but is not the important thing; what is important is that I was able to walk into a gun store and buy magazines with a round capacity of more than 10 rounds. As a matter of fact, I probably could have bought a pistol on my one day old AR driver's license but I prefer to wait until actually having been here long enough to establish bona fide residency. That, to the best of my knowledge, is 90 days based on what they told me in the county clerks office after their DMV folks said to check with the clerk.

In fact, even though I got the AR driver's license, I am still a resident of NY and will be such until at least the sale of our house closes and I move out of NY permanently - hopefully by mid-June. I got the AR license just to start things going and to provide proof of my move to the county gendarmerie in NY when I inform them I am turning in my pistol license because I have moved to AR. I don't know why I or anyone should need to bother once moved out of NY but my bet is they will want some proof. Anyway, I will be happy to give it to them once relocated to, and breathing the air of, a freer state.

By the way, as you may have guessed, someone was mighty happy to get three 13 round mags for his Glock 21.Maybe we'll use them on our next visit to the range.

Esatblishing Residency

Today, I took my first official step at becoming an Arkansan (or is that Arkansaurian or Arkansite).

Whatever, that I will learn the correct nomenclature for my residency and in about 90 days after the sale of my house closes in NY, I will become a resident of Arkansas. Then I am going to go gun crazy, as in buying new stuff - not becoming a psycho killer or anything like that! Hell, I may need to buy a pickup truck too but that will take awhile (and a job that suits me  - not just one that pays a salary but one I actually like).

As for NY - FUAC.

I Set A Personal Record Today

I took a little drive today (actually yesterday as it is after midnight as I write this). The record I set was the distance I drove in one day - 907 miles. It may not be a lot for someone else but damn, it beat my longest previous drive by about 125 -150 miles or so. Had it not been pretty late when I hit that mark, I would have driven for another hour or two but being 11PM I figured I had best grab a motel room for the night. My last record setting drive, as best I can recall, was about 750 to 775 miles and that was back in 1983 when I was a sprite young lad of 28. Maybe I drove a bit more than that later on but not as best I remember. I certainly never drove over 900 miles in one day before.

Riddle Me This Batman...

...the dems want Trump impeached for obstruction of justice; so why is it they do not want to prosecute, in some way shape or form, Special Counsel Mueller. He reportedly knew that President Trump had been exonerated of anything to do with conspiring (collusion as they called it) with the Russians and supposedly knew it a year or so before closing the investigation. So, did Mueller obstruct justice being done by holding off on making public that determination for about a year. After all justice being done does not necessarily mean charging and convicting someone of a crime - it means being just and thus would also mean determining someone was not guilty as charged or even suspected instead of carrying on your investigation while the person still believes you are investigating him of the original charge. Of course, that could drive anyone nuts, especially when the person being investigated knew with certainty that he had not conspired, colluded, assisted or anything like that; yet, the government makes it appear as if he is still the target of that investigation!

Now with that said, think of a charge of entrapment against Mueller if President Trump is indeed impeached. President Trump would never have been pressured into saying half of the things he said, about it being a witch hunt and that the investigation should be toned down or that the investigation was this or that or asking for help in getting it over with, had Mueller spoken up sooner about him being innocent and no longer a suspect in that regard. Thus, if impeached, the government by way of Mueller continuing to make it appear as if an investigation against President Trump was ongoing, one that should have ceased and been announced in a timely fashion as completed with a finding of no criminal acts by the president, quite possibly trapped the president by way of making him think they were conspiring to frame him and thus making him speak out against the witch hunt et al. If they use anything he said, at least after the first year of the investigation, to impeach him - it is fruit of the poisonous tree and Mueller needs to be prosecuted himself - in my opinion.

Hitler's Suicide - 156 Years To The Day...

... After George Washington was sworn in as president in the USA.

Not only was today an great day for this nation because George Washington was sworn in as president in 1789, but 156 years later in 1945, this day was a great day for us and the entire world. On this day in 1945, Adolf Hitler allegedly committed murder/suicide. He killed his wife of only one day, Eva Braun, and then himself. Although there have been statements, by those who were in the bunker (but not in the same room) with the Hitlers when they died, saying Hitler committed murder/suicide and that he was then cremated by his guards and his remains buried, his alleged death is still questioned by some skeptics today as they believe he either fled by U-Boat to Spain or to Argentina.

Me, I think either way it turned out back then, he is almost assuredly dead by now. Sadly, his memory will live on throughout the ages as one of the most heinous and evil individuals ever to have lived.

April 30, 1789 - 230 Years Ago Today...

...the first president of the United States of America - George Washington - was sworn into office at Federal Hall in our nation's first capital Philadelphia, PA,  Washington, DC New York, NY.

As I recall, my son was aware that New York City was our country's first capital but was unaware that Federal Hall was in essence our first White House (so to speak) nor that Washington was sworn in as president on the balcony of that building in NYC in 1789. Brendan and I visited the spot during his surprise Christmas visit to see us in December 2017; I figured it was worth a trip to see it (actually now the Federal Hall National Memorial) and to visit Fraunce's Tavern and raise a glass in memory of our Founding Fathers, many who drank there ever so long before us.

I have to wonder - how many other American citizens or legal resident aliens (let alone illegal scum) realize that NYC was our first capital, that out first president was sworn in there at Federal Hall in 1789, that the stone upon which he stood while taking the oath of office still exists and is on display in the Federal Hall National Memorial, that the original Federal Hall was demolished and the building now called the Federal Hall National Memorial was in fact built as the Custom House (which came as a surprise to me even though most of my career was with U.S. Customs Office of Investigations) for the Port of NY.

Regardless of who knows it or not, I think today is a worthy day for a celebration of the anniversary of the swearing in of our first President - George Washington - the father of our nation.

The Gun Buying Bug Bit Him Too...

...just like it bit me but with me it was a long time ago and with him it was a bit more recently. You know that bug don't you - like when you go to a gun store and just gotta have that newest whatever they have in stock or when you go to a gun auction and wind up bidding more than you had planned because you just have to have this one you have always wanted so badly or when a buddy is selling that revolver you have lusted after for years and you pay whatever he is asking or when you go to a gun show and aren't about to leave before plunking down your hard earned cash on an old but classic milsurp rifle at a decent price even if it is a bit of a clunker.

Now, when I say the gun buying bug bit HIM, the him to whom I refer is Brendan, my son. He went to a local gun show down his way yesterday. He called me and told me he was at a really small gun show and he was considering buying a rifle and wanted to know if I thought it was a good deal. I had a sneaking suspicion he had bought it already and was trying to get my approval because maybe he was having second thoughts. That was just a guess but I based it in part on him telling me it was "hoopty" and him wanting to know if the price being asked was a good one and his tone of voice. I could have been wrong, maybe he actually was asking his old man's advice before plunking down his hard earned cash.

What he had been considering buying was a Mosin Nagant M44 of Russian manufacture. I think he said it was dated 1944 but I'll be damned if I am sure of that. Anyway - I told him to make sure it had matching serial numbers and he said they matched on the receiver, the bolt, the butt plate and the magazine. Good so far. I also said to look for rust and pitting - he did not see any. Told him to check the bore, his description was not what I had hoped to hear and it may have some rust or maybe it's just dark. He did say he could see the rifling and that was a good thing. I asked him if the wood had any cracks, chips or gouges and he said 'no but it looked like a lousy finish job on the wood and it had scratches - as he described it, the wood is what was "hoopty". I asked him how much and he told me a decent amount was being asked and by decent I mean less than what they normally go for. Then I told him send me a picture of both sides of it.

Now either he had already bought it by then, or he bought it between that phone call conversation with me and when he sent me the photo a short time later because the photo was of it leaning against his car.

He said got the seller to come down $25 in price from the asking price. He only sent one photo of it and if the other side is the same or better as the side I have seen, he did okay for himself - hoopty wood or not. The piece was complete with cleaning rod and attached folding bayonet and also came with a sling, and ammo pouches. I could not really make out the condition of the metal but what I could see looked fair to good. The wood finish, as he said looked a bit hoopty but really not all that bad - just cosmetically so. No problem there. In fact, I think he could sell it for maybe $50 to $75 more than he paid for it. Of course, if he wants to keep it I could refinish the wood (or just do a repair on the scratches) for him if he wants, or he could keep it as is and still have lots of fun with it. Whatever he wants but I hope he keeps and shoots it at least long enough for both of us to get a chance to have some fun with it together; I like old guns and am happy he has an eye for some of them too.

Whatever becomes of it - I think he got a good deal; had I seen it at the price that was being asked and if it is in as good a condition as Brendan described to me, I would have bought it myself. Sorry I am not saying how much he paid, the price is his business, but as I said I think he did well. Happy to see him following in my footsteps at least when it comes to guns.
