I Just Don't Get Why The Cop In Atlanta Was Fired

The suspect who wound up being fatally shot by the officer was obviously inebriated or mentally unbalanced as I saw it.He resisted arrest. He struggled with the officer, then he grabbed then officer's weapon - a TASER. (might as well get that right, it is not a taser nor a Taser). He fled the arrest, he turned and seemingly aimed the weapon at the officer, the officer fired at him, hitting him and killing him. What does anyone think the suspect would have done had he fired the TASER at the officer and hit him incapacitating him. Do you think it only possible that he would have continued running away? Is it even imaginable for you to think maybe - had he put the officer down - he would have turned back to grab the officer's handgun and poised a further risk to the officer, his partner and the community at large. I can certainly imagine it. The officer was - in my opinion - based on what I have been trained over the years and upon what I have read about this case and seen in the video of it - fully justified to use deadly force.

I do not care one hoot about the skin color of the suspect. I don't see it as black, white, brown, yellow, red or even green or rainbow - I see it as a clear cut case of the officer being threatened with force that could have resulted in severe bodily harm and him thus being justified to do what he did. For anyone to make this a racial issue merely shows to me that said person has an agenda.

Met This Guy While Out For A Walk...

...with my mongrel, Skye Knucklehead (yes, the Knucklehead is a new addition to her name) this morning. He was walking across the path, perpendicular to our direction, that we we walking along on the golf course adjacent to my son's apartment complex in Benton, AR. It was quite the surprise meeting since this guy was about a 1/4 mile from the nearest water hazard on the course. 

Found him crossing our path in the damp spot on the blacktop at about mid frame on the right side of the path. You can see the pond off in the distance in the upper left hand corner of the photo as you look at it.

He was bedraggled, mud covered, had grass stuck to himself by way of the grass adhering to the mud and he looked as if he could use a friend or two and maybe some asylum too. So, I scooped him up and let Skye Knucklehead give him a good sniffing, as mongrels will do to new found friends.

Skye was interested for a moment & seemed more eager to look for rabbits.

The little guy looked good both top and bottom.

Then, I gave him a good once over myself, of the visual sort, to make sure he appeared healthy and injury free. After that we brought him to the closest pond on the golf course but not before he obliged us and stuck out his neck for us, so to speak, to give us a better view of himself. 

It always amazes me how far they can stick their necks out.

At first I had thought maybe it had just hatched but then, and as my son also did later when I showed him the pictures, figured he probably was too big to be a hatchling. Anyway, he seemed to immediately take to the water of the pond and skedaddled under the surface to the murky depths, all of 3 or 4 inches deep, and under some debris.

I would have loved to have brought him home and set up a tank for him but figured I'd leave well enough as it was and since the pond seemed to suit him, that was definitely well enough.

We left it at that.

It Is Nothing Short Of An Insurrection...

...and the police are not doing squat to stop in, in fact it seems they have facilitated it in places like Minneapolis and Seattle. Is it time for the Federal government to step in with troops. I think so, in fact I thought it was time back on June 3rd and it's now the 11th. The time is way overdo. This may be the long awaited revolution but not the one I have been awaiting. I have always sort of suspected it would come from and be caused by leftists who wanted to destroy our rights & liberties, the nation and our Constitution instead of RKBA types protecting our rights, liberties freedoms, the country and the foundation on which it is built. Well, here it is today for the entire world to see and before it gets into full fledged nationwide violent revolution with more so called autonomous zones established (maybe even around the White House and Capital Building) maybe it is high time that the President of The United States of America take control and crush the usurpers or at at least give them a good proverbial spanking and retake America from this leftist scum. Give them an inch they will take a mile and they have shown that is what they will do by having done it. Give them two inches they may try to take 2,789 miles - the driving distance between NYC and LA - or in other words the entire country from coast to coast. You say you doubt it - think about three months ago - would you ever have thought of insurgents forcing police out of police stations and shutting down whole neighborhoods and then taking control of them! If you are being honest with yourself, you never imagined it just like you refuse to imagine now this getting much worse but I see that as exactly what will happen - it will get much worse if the powers that be do not act decisively now with whatever amount of force is deemed justifiably necessary.

Police Free Fridays - A Pro-Police Protest

I think that each and every police officer and other law enforcement officer within the United States should join together in solidarity and plan to hold Police Free Fridays for the month of July 2020. On each Friday next month, every police & law enforcement officer in the country should refuse to show up for work for the entire 24 hours in each of those days. They should advertise the fact that they will be staging Police Free Fridays to the world so that every criminal on the earth will have ample opportunity to act accordingly. I figure by the second Friday, criminals will realize it is for real. By the third or maybe the fourth Friday the leftist extremists, politicians, hate groups & all citizens (except maybe the criminals) will be begging them to go back to work and all thoughts of defunding the police will have vanished from memory. By the fifth Friday, every LEO in the USA will have received a bonus to return to work.

A Fair And Impartial Judge & Jury - No Way

So does anyone think that Derek Chauvin and the other three cops accused in the death of George Floyd can get a fair trial with an impartial jury and judge? I do not think it possible and yes even if guilty as sin, which they appear to be to me right now, they are entitled to a fair trial including impartial jurors and judge. Who among you can honestly say you do not already hold an opinion of Derek Chauvin's and the other officers actions (or lack of them) and as to their guilt or innocence in the death of Mr. Floyd. You would pretty much have to have been trapped in a coal mine, as in The World The Flesh & The Devil, for the last few weeks not to have one on this case. I'd consider paying for lie detector tests to be given to each of the jurors selected for his case to determine if they will have lied or told the truth about being able to be impartial - oh yeah I'd probably pay for one for the judge too - that might be the most interesting result. 

Of course, strange things have happened within our criminal justice system - look to the Rodney King case. I for one probably would have voted for conviction based on my knowledge of the case, and proper use of force, at the time after watching the video of the beating the cops in CA gave him. Of course, you do not know all the facts until you have them presented in court. So, while even a partial juror, one way of the other, could be swayed toward a fair and just verdict based on the presented evidence during trial, I still I find it next to impossible to believe an actual impartial judge & jury can be selected in the George Floyd case after all of America has been so badly effected by the media's coverage of the case, the politicians howling for their heads, the hate groups hating and all of of the rioting and looting that is still ongoing. 

Of course, the cops could do the entire nation a big favor by pleading guilty and while I also doubt it will come to that, I believe there is more of a chance for it to happen than for them to face an impartial judge and jury.

For The Birds - No More Please!

I bought a bird feeder. I hung it
on my back porch and filled it
with seed. What a beauty of
a bird feeder it was, as I filled it
lovingly   with seed.

Within a week we had hundreds of birds
taking advantage of the
continuous flow of free and
easily accessible food.  But then the birds started
building nests in the boards
of the patio, above the table,
and next to the barbecue.  Then came the shit. It was
everywhere: on the patio tile,
the chairs, the table ...
everywhere!  Then some of the birds
turned mean. They would
dive bomb me and try to
peck me even though I had
fed them out of my own
pocket.  And others birds were
boisterous and loud. They
sat on the feeder and
squawked and screamed at
all hours of the day and night
and demanded that I fill it
when it got low on food.  After a while, I couldn't even
sit on my own back porch
anymore.

 

So I took down the bird feeder

and in three days
the birds were gone. I cleaned
up their mess and took down
the many nests they had built
all over the patio.  Soon, the back yard was like
it used to be ... quiet, serene...
and no one demanding their
rights to a free meal.  Now let's see...
Our government gives out
free food, subsidized housing,
free medical care and free
education, and allows anyone
born here to be an automatic
citizen.  Then the illegals came by the
tens of thousands. Suddenly
our taxes went up to pay for
free services; small apartments
are housing 5 families; you
have to wait 6 hours to be seen
by an emergency room doctor;
Your child's second grade class is
behind other schools because
over half the class doesn't speak
English.  Corn Flakes now come in a
bilingual box; I have to
'press one ' to hear my bank
talk to me in English, and
people waving flags other
than ”ours” are
squawking and screaming
in the streets, demanding
more rights and free liberties.  Just my opinion, but maybe
it's time for the government
to take down the bird feeder.  If you agree, pass it on; if not,
just continue cleaning up the shit!
