So Why Am I Still Here...

...since I said I wanted to leave for hunting by 1000. The mother-in-law beat me to the shower. My guess is I have another half hour wait for it. I guess I should never have hesitated by stopping to blog.

Oh well,

I Am Jealous Of This Guy...

...because I too would like to have each and everyone of the guns in this picture!

Well, I Was Going To Go On A Hunting Trip....

...and figured to leave my house by 0300. I even got to sleep at about 1830 last night but by 2015 the noise my son and his drunken buddies were making while watching The Hobbit awakened me. I only got back to sleep well after 2000 hours. I figured I would get enough sleep by 0500 or 0530 and head out then and still get enough hunting time in today to keep me happy even though it would have taken me at least 3.5 hours to get to where I hunt. At 0200, the alarm on my phone went off. I forgo to reset it when I went back to bed! Awakened once again, damn. While in a fairly deep slumber, at about 0300, I felt one of our Chihuahuas jump off of the futon as she climbed over me. That was immediately followed by the unmistakable whine of Abby, our long haired Chihuahua. It was the I gotta go pee whine. So I let her out to do her thing. Then it was back in the sack for me.

I tossed and turned after that for quite the while and at about 0400, not long after I got back to sleep, I was awakened again - this time by a pain in my right knee. It was either caused by the gout or some mystery illness that has not been diagnosed by my docs yet. I am betting it is gout, so I got up and took a Colcrys and crawled back onto the futon. Somewhere in all this mess, I have a foggy recollection of having watched an old B&W movie, One Way Passage with William Powell and Kay Francis. At about 0600, I woke up again, this time Abby was giving me the I want to eat whine. Unlike our four other dogs, she is a whiner, you can safety bet she has one for almost everything. So, I got up, dragged Pepe (our male Chihuahua) out from under my blanket and let him out. Then I fed Abby. When Pepe came back inside I fed him too. My knee was aching some but not as bad as before. Anyway, it was hurting enough I figured I had better take it easy. I went back to bed craving a few hours sleep.

I got up about an hour ago. Note I did not say I awoke an hour ago; that is because I was laying there in bed trying to sleep for the two or so previous hours with no luck. I had been in bed watching a couple episodes of The Rifleman. All that lever action action got me thinking about my Marlin 336  and hunting. So I finally dragged my arse out of bed and upstairs to make some breakfast. Had a couple of scrambled in coconut oil, a piece of corn rye bread (not a spec of corn in it) and a nice cup of Joe. Went upstairs after that to take a shower but the wife was in their, she said she would be five minutes, that was 10-15 minutes ago. Just sat down and decided to hit the blog since I have been absent way too long. I am still debating whether or not to go hunting. If I leave by 10, I can get there by 1330 or 1400 which would leave me a good 2.5 hours of legal hunting time today. Then I would also have all day tomorrow. Bending the knee back and forth right now (as I type), it is feeling better. Maybe I took the Colcrys in time to help reduce the pain. Ah, I hear the wife in the kitchen. I had better go climb into the shower before anyone else does. Then I think I will head out to upstate NY and see what happens. I can either hunt for deer or just sit under a tree in the woods and catch up on all the sleep I missed out on last night.

The Nincompoop In Charge (NIC) Has Been Promoted To The...

... PIC (aka: Pussy In Charge) of the United Statse of America. I think many of us, and others across the world like ISIS and Putin, already believed that President Obama has been a pussy when it comes to standing up against terrorism, to foreign powers and is also one in general as he gives of a weak and effeminate air. If for some reason you never thought so before, then maybe you should listen to the words of Lt. Colonel Ralph Peters (Ret.) about what he thinks of president Obama in response to the speech Obama gave about terrorism a couple of days ago. This is priceless un-whitewashed truth.

Too bad that he was chastised by the Fox News butthead; let's face it, he described Obama's weakness as a leader and his lack of ability to grasp a situation perfectly.

Hat tip to Peter Q for the video.

The Sneak Attack On Pearl Harbor Happened Today In 1941...

...and the United States of America was brought into WWII because of a bunch of religious fanatics, who had extreme religious views about their god being the one god, and that they were at his beck and call to conquer or destroy the rest of the non-believing world as they saw fit and they saw fit to enslave, torture, maim and kill (all in the name of their god) in some of the most horrendous ways throughout history.

Yes, today is the anniversary of the sneak attack on Pearl Harbor by Japan. You may also recall, it took years of warfare plus two very large bombs, to in essence bomb them back into the stone-age, before they surrendered and gave up their religious fanaticism. From then onwards, all the way through today (and probably for many years to come), they have been at peace with us and with the rest of the world. They completely lost all desire to conquer and or destroy in the name of their god, in fact, they got rid of their god (as far as being a god went).

Funny how that worked after they were nuked a couple of times! I wonder if such a response to ISIS would end with similar results? My bet is yes there would be a similar end to a terrible aggression by a heinous enemy because too many of the enemy would have perished to allow them to continue.

Anyway, my prayers and all the respect I can muster go out to all those U.S. Servicemen and Servicewomen who were injured and or lost their lives on this day in1941.

The Knee

Both knees have been aching me lately, a fairly painful, deep, stiff, kind of sore ache.So too have my fingers, elbows, toes, ankles and hips been aching likewise. Add to that my right shoulder blade, with pains of another nature, and I am one poorly constructed bag of bones.

For the last week and a half or so though, my right knee has been in on and off then on again agony. I figured it was the gout brought on by a Thanksgiving Eve repast consisting of a 2.5 pound lobster, a couple to few beers, and whatever else I had that night. I did not go overboard on Thanksgiving. I ate a decent amount but nothing that is really bad for someone with gout. I did have a wee dram of Irish Cream Liquor but that was it for alcohol. Anyway, the next day I had a twinge. Then by sometime Saturday, I was hurting  pretty badly. I was in agony by Saturday night.

The second worst gout attack I have ever had is what it has been, well if it is actually the gout. I have been bitten by at least 5 ticks, of at least two different species, over the past two to three months. With all the aches in my joints prior to this supposed gout attack, I was wondering if I had contracted Lyme Disease for the third time. Went to the doc this past Friday for the knee because it was bad enough that I missed two days of work (a third day including today). She said she thought it might not be the gout (especially since the Colcrys had little effect) and would run some blood tests an have an x-ray done. I asked if we could hold off on the x-ray and she agreed it would be a good idea to wait until the blood-work came back because if it is all due to Lyme Disease then an x-ray is probably not needed. I know I have had more than my share of x-rays when I had radiation therapy a few years back. and don't need any to excess now.

I called the doc today and a nurse got back to me to say all the blood-work as negative; that was except for one test for which they had not yet received the results. That would be the test for the truly suspect malady - Lyme Disease. I asked when they expected it, and the gal at the other end of the phone hemmed, hawed and said 'uhhhhh, maybe within a week'. I am guessing she had no clue because I sure don't recall a test for Lyme Disease ever taking a week to be completed for me before. Oh well, hurry up and wait seems to be the thing today.

Even if it is still aching tomorrow, I am going to make my best effort to get my lard arse into work. I need to money to help support Santa Claus and his elves.

Don't Forget Folks, It's Almost Christmas

There are only this many days, hours, minutes and seconds until Christmas:

http://www.xmasclock.com/

If you want to find any of these under your tree...

You'd need to be exceptionally nice to find
all of these gifts under your tree this year.

...you had best be very, very, very, very good in the little time you have left! I could think of nothing nicer than finding a new pistol, and some nicely wrapped ammo for it, under the tree for me. As for the sexy elf, what could I do with her at my age! I imagine though it might be fun finding out but of course that ain't gonna happen.

Wow - I May Have Gotten It Fixed

So far with the HP laptop, after the latest system recvovery I ran (this time from DVDs instead of from the Windows Partition on the hard disk) everything seems to be running smoothly. That is, it is running smoothly until it breaks again. I am keeping my fingers crossed that it will last, in good running order, until I have saved the money for a new one.

Edited to add: Let's see, though, what happens after I install MS Windows updates. Right now I am 55% through downloading 217 of 221 important updates. I imagine it will download and install the other 4 important updates after it installs the first 217 of them.

Sadly, It IS All Factual - Every Word of It

He goes about it in a light hearted almost comic manner although sadly there is truly nothing funny about it but he hits the nail on the head each time. By the way, each one of those nails are coffin nails in our coffin. Wake up America and destroy terrorism and all of its supporters whereever they raise their ugly heads.

A hat tip to Peter Q for that one, thanks again.

I Am No Computer Guru...

...but I am learning as I plod along taking chances with this one while trying to fix it myself. Amazingly, despite all the problems, it passed all the self diagnostic tests. Now, I am doing another system recovery but this one is very different. The others I ran all used files, that HP had placed in a partitioned area on the hard drive, to reinstall the operating system anew. I also had three DVDs to use for the same purpose but did not see how or when I could use them to do the recovery.

Well, the system just stopped booting at all and shortly after that it gave me the prompt to insert the media to reboot. I did it and it is now doing a system recovery from the first of those three DVDs. First it said it was formatting the drive (am I ever so happy I have a backup of my important documents and most of my photos). Now it says it is copying files. It is taking its sweet arsed time copying files and I imagine that means it is getting it done right this time or in other words that it is doing a complete rewrite of the operating system. I am not about to get too excited about it yet but if and when it has me insert discs 2 and 3 then I will believe I am making real progress. Otherwise, if this does not work, I guess I will be buying a new laptop.

HP Woes

It seems my laptop may be fried. I am running a System Tune-Up, which is not really a tune-up but a series of tests of things like the memory, PCI device, processor and the hard disk. It is going really slowly, slower than I remember during a past test when the hard drive was crapped out. Whatever, the darned thing keeps running slow, failing to update Windows, failing to boot and blue screens keep showing up. Norton said it is virus free. All that despite me running a system recovery and starting all over  five times, maybe six. Last time this happened, my hard disk was the culprit.

This and a previous HP Laptop have been the most problematic computers I have owned and likewise out of all computers I have ever used. To me, it seems HP = Shaite. I think I will go back to Dell after this or maybe some other brand but will not get anpther HP. I am only going to start saving for a new one now so, unless I can figure out and fix the problem soon,  I am going to be using my phone for all my Internet stuff for quite the time to come.

Why Does Anyone Express Surprise About Female Terrorists

After the latest terrorist attack on our soil, plenty of folks I heard talking about the incident expressed surprise over a female being one of the shooters. Same with the recent attacks in Paris, many seemed not only surprised but shocked that a woman was involved (at least in the aftermath) when she was blown to bits while wearing a suicide vest during a police raid.

Wake up America and smell the shit - it is not just their men but it is also Islam's women who want us dead and they have been training to kill us for a long time.

Out Of Warranty For Only 3.5 Months...

...and it is out of service again. The 'it' being my HP Pavillion laptop computer. I guess adding a Dell Alienware laptop to my Christmas wish list was reasonable; although, I suppose it unreasonable to expect to get one as a gift. It seems, I will have to improve my spending and savings habits before I can reasonably expect to get a new one. For now, I am trying to repair it myself and will depend on my phone for Internet use.

2206 Hours, Edited to Add: Many - many - many hours later, after writing the above, it seems to be working now but only after I ran 3 or 4 complete system recoveries. Hopefully the back-up I ran before doing the first recovery has worked. Right now I am running a virus scan of the drive I used to store the backed up files. If they are all clean, I will recover them to the hard drive tomorrow.

F' THE NY DAILY NEWS...

...is all I can say about that so called newspaper that I now believe to be worthy of little more than being used as an ass-wipe in an emergency. I have been buying what I have long considered a
leftist rag, for the past few months, just about everyday that I have gone to work. I didn't buy it to read what I thought were the sensationalist leftist articles, that in my estimation fill about 50 to 75% of its pages. I bought it only to do the word jumble and the crossword puzzles. From now on though, after their headline today, I am disgusted with it beyond my own belief.

Source: http://www.nydailynews.com/news/the-week

I am not big on religion, I am agnostic at best. I pray but only rarely and I do pray but not so much to any particular God but to whatever may be a higher power if there is one. I certainly do not worship any God. Yet, I respect they who do worship God and their right to do so, that is so long as their worship does not infringe upon the rights of others, especially in an intrusive or violent manner - as does Islam all to often. I also respect the beliefs of atheists and agnostics. Too bad the Daily News leftists stooges do not do likewise. They too, it seems, like Obama and the three stooges running for the democrat candidacy, cannot see beyond their leftist politics and use every crisis to its full political
advantage.

You can do as you like with the Daily News, I am not trying to sway you one way or the other as to whether or not you support them. Me though, I will no longer spend a cent on it.

The Left's Latest Calls For Gun Control...

...are shallow and purely political pandering to the left; it is all merely giving the leftists the anti-gun fix they crave at every opportunity. I state that as an absolute irrefutable fact as far as I can see it. One would think that in order for me to say so, I would need some sort of proof. I have it and so do you. In fact, that proof is slapping you in your face and doing it hard.

The NIC (President Obama), the potential NICs Hillary Clinton, Bernie Sanders and the other guy are all screaming for more gun control in the wake of the shootings in San Bernardino yesterday but, and this is the crux of m proof, they are not calling for anything else. For example, Obama vehemently defends his plan to allow 10,000 Syrian refugees into this country regardless of the fact that some will almost undoubtedly be terrorists. In addition, neither the NIC nor one candidate has called for the death penalty for people who commit crimes like this. Not one of those four has called for stiffer penalties for terrorists and let's face it - no matter what the motivation, this was an act of terrorism. Finally, not one of them has called for stiffer rules, regulations or laws regarding explosives and explosive devices such as IEDs and the house of the main suspect is being called an IED factory by law enforcement. Lest I forget, let me also add that not one of them can envision what would have taken place had 4 or 5 of the people among the victims been armed.

Obama (and the other three leftist stooges) can only focus on the shootings and gun control. The president and the other three apparently do not have the vision to imagine what would have happened had the terrorists used those explosives instead of, or in combination with, firearms. The three stooges running for the democrat nomination for the presidency, in my estimation, are not worthy of one vote let alone enough to be elected to the highest office in our nation. I truly believe that the current NIC, Obama, is an enemy of the United States of America in as much as he repeatedly fails to uphold his oath of office, and repeatedly acts in opposition to that oath, relative to the Constitution that he was sworn to preserve, protect and defend!

My prayers and condolences go to the families and loved ones of they who perished yesterday and my prayers and wishes for a speedy recovery go out to they who were injured but survived the carnage.

All he best,
Glenn B

Obama Can Blame This On Bush Too...

...but he only has himself to blame for me doubting which side he is on. In fact, I am beginning to lose any doubt that Obama is not on our side at all and that he would prefer a caliphate in place of our present form of government. His comparison of Muslims to the Pilgrims was so far out in left field as to have removed almost any doubt from my mind that he is one of them. His wishes for gun control make me think he would see us unarmed so his buddies can conquer us. Hi s rhetoric and actions, after police shootings of thugs among other things, indicate to me he is given to racism. I think everything about him reeks of him being a servant of allah, a racist, an anti-Constitutional, anti-American, usurper of our rights and liberties.

While I often thought Bush a well meaning patriot who was sometimes a fool, I see Obama as the personification of anti-American idealism and tyranny.

Me And My Big Mouth - One Of Those Whoops Moments

There I was, just a minute ago as I type, calling a local pet shop to see if they would be hosting a vet care clinic today; one of our dogs needs rabies shots. The guy who answered did so on speaker phone. He was obviously far from the speaker when talking and it sounded like he had a mouthful of something. I made my inquiry and he put me on hold and I did exactly what my son tells me I have to stop doing - thinking out loud - and I said "it sounds like he's got a mouthful of co--". I realized what I said and that hell - we were still on speaker phone - and I blurted out "yeah, a lot of cotton". When he got back on the phone it was obvious he was not pleased but at least he did not think out loud what he was thinking. Oh well...I would have deserved it if he had thought out loud and let me have it.

I Am Willing To Bet It Would Have Been Different Had It Been Police Here...

...who responded to this domestic violence call. I can envision at the very least, an apartment door busted in, cops in military gear making entry with guns drawn and knocking the guy on his arse or shooting him with a TASER and then cuffing him before ripping up the apartment while searching it for a victim. Then, almost without a doubt, he would be arrested for some type of contraband they just happened to come across while searching for the body. Oh yeah, if he had a dog, it probably would have been shot.

I am not saying that would happen with every police department that might respond to such a call in the US, not even with most of them, but let's face it there sure is a good possibility it would happen that way with way too many of them. Of course, the apartment dweller would become an overnight millionaire too.

Advantage To The Knife Holder At 7 Yards?

All other things being equal, at 7 yards distance (a mere 21 feet) if someone confronting you is holding a knife and you have a holstered gun, and there is no cover available, I believe that the person with the knife almost always has the advantage over you as to who can wound the other first. You may not believe that but I do because I have been trained time and time again that such is the case. In fact, in later years of my continued tactical firearms
training, my instructors increased the distance to 30 feet (10 yards) although that was slightly controversial. You also may not want to believe it but the 21 foot rule also sometimes (note I did not say always) applies when you have your firearm, in hand, in the ready position. Even if your assailant does not have an advantage if you already have your weapon out at the ready, at a mere 7 yards, the odds are still not in your favor by much, if at all, and it is more likely that the best you can hope for is a tie. A tie when facing life threatening force is not good odds for you or the other guy.

If anyone doubts it, then I invite them to face me with a gun while I hold a knife and am only 21 feet from them. Of course I am talking about training devices incapable of doing harm, I would not train for that scenario with a real knife or gun capable of firing live ammunition other than Simunition. I mean it too, I will gladly prove my point by facing anyone, even a much younger person than me, to see if they can effectively draw and fire to stop me with a gun before I can get them with a knife from that distance. Sure, someone might be able to do it but most of you will not, that even considering my 60 year old very stiff and aching joints.

How do I know this? Is it because of all the classroom verbal instruction I have received or is it because I have seen numerous training videos on the subject? Well, it is a bit of both but has more to do with actual live training for such situations. It's easy to test the rule just as we did when I was being trained for it or when I was training others about it. Just stand there with a training firearm. Make absolutely sure it is a training gun that is totally incapable of firing live ammunition - a non-firing rubber gun or a cap gun are good devices to use or if you want something more realistic a Simunitions firing gun (fires non-life threatening paint filled plastic projectiles that can leave quite the bruise) is great but does require proper protective gear be worn.  Have someone else stand 21 feet from you armed with a training knife (made from rubber, no sharp edges and blunt tip). Both of you should be in the open with no cover with 21 feet of you. Then, at your opponents will, he should attack you as rapidly as possible (using only a rubber training knife or something else that cannot cut of inflict harm) and you should attempt to draw and fire BUT only when you realize you are being attacked. See who wins. My bet is on the knife wielding assailant. Then try it with your training gun out and at the ready.

You don't even need training-weapons to do this; you can point your hand and say bang and your opponent can use a hand in place of a training knife. Of course, it is much more realistic if you use professionally made training weapons (meaning a gun that cannot possibly fire live ammunition and a rubber knife that cannot cut or stab and you should wear eye protection at the minimum. Note that I cannot stress this enough: NEVER USE A REAL WEAPON TO TRY THIS!

So, what brings this up today. It was a Fox News report, of a day or two ago, in which Greta Vanwhatever, and two other Fox News types, were talking about this shooting and repeatedly saying that the guy who was shot, at a distance of 10 feet (according to them), never posed a threat to the officer who shot him because of the distance between them. When it comes to a knife versus a gun, they don't know squat. Now please mind your manners and pay attention to what I am about to say:

If the police were responding to a report of a suspect who had just punctured a tire on a car with a knife (as I first saw reported) and if, as police approached him, the guy had a knife in his hand and he was acting odd or was not complying with police orders to stop or to drop the knife, and if he was only 10 feet (just over 3 yards) from the officer, then in fact, the officer well could have had reasonable cause (even probable cause) to believe the guy posed a deadly threat to the officer and thus the officer would have been justified to use deadly force to stop the threat.

Now don't start saying I am some sort of Nazi or racist or that I am always pro-police and anti-citizen just because you may disagree. Please note, I did not say that I think he officer should not have been charged with murder or at least manslaughter. I am only saying he possibly was justified to use deadly force to stop the threat. I did not say he should have used excessive force. In fact, I do think, from what I have read and seen so far, that he used excessive force and that his arrest was fully justified and that he should stand trial for either manslaughter or murder (whichever is appropriate under state law). In my opinion, based on what little I know now, him firing as many times as he did, seemingly was not justified.

If you are in LE, don't start calling me a cop hater either. I was in LE for over 32 years and worked well with many officers from many departments. I will tell you this though, I hated it when any of my brother or sister agents or officers abused their authority especially regarding use of excessive force and I reported it more than once. I can proudly say that in all of that time, I never used excessive force and never had even a single official complaint made against me by anyone for use of excessive force (or as far as I recall for anything for that matter). That is not because I never arrested anyone, I literally made thousands of arrests (most during the 4 short years I spent in the U.S. Border Patrol) and many of those arrests included violent encounters started by the dirtbags being detained.

In another LE position, here in NY, I shot someone once, while I was off duty. He and an accomplice tried to rob me. I was found fully justified. All it took was two shots to stop the threat of both assailants (that was two shots total, not two shots at each criminal). One hit the closest assailant and the other hit the windshield of their car just where the other guy's head was at as he tried to get out of the car while holding a revolver in one hand. I am not saying that multiple shots at a single assailant are never required, nor am I saying that that many shots are never necessary to stop a threat to your life. It all depends on the situation in which you find yourself; however sometimes all it takes is a minimal amount of shots and THAT IS ALL IT IS EVER SUPPOSED TO TAKE. You shoot until the threat has been stopped. You, as the defender who is shooting needs to know when the threat has been terminated and you must use reasoning to do so. However, if you watch the video and carefully review what was happening, I think you too will come away with the belief that the officer used excessive force by firing as many times as he did, or in other words well beyond the time when the suspect gave the officer a reasonable belief that he was faced with imminent death or serious bodily harm. That is, I think you will arrive at that conclusion if you are being perfectly honest and objective while considering your 'shoot - don't shoot' training and the legalities of using deadly force. That thought is not my main point, whether or not that officer reasonably believed his life was in danger throughout every shot he fired (and then as he was about to reload) is only secondary to this discussion.

My main point is that an edged weapon holding assailant who is 21 feet away from you, let alone the10 feet reported in this case, can hurt you before you can draw and fire if he wants to do so and gives it his best try, sometimes even if you already have gun in hand. As a gun owner, who carries for self-defense, you should know that. Don't believe me though, because I make the disclaimer that such is my opinion based upon my own training and experience and is not advice for you. My advice to you though is to make sure to check it out in tactical firearms training materials to see what they say about it. Then train for the situation so you know what to do I ever confronted by a knife wielding assailant. I will mention some of the very basics before closing. Remember these points - they may help save your life:

An assailant with a knife, when both of you are in the open, often can easily reach you from within a 21 foot distance before you can draw and fire a handgun if all other things are equal.

In such an encounter, distance is your friend.

Safe retreat, when it is an option, if confronted by a blade yielding assailant is often a good option.

Cover between you and your assailant is a good thing, it can make it harder for your assailant to reach you.

Training, more training and lots of practice often can result, not only in your survival but, in you winning by you stopping the threat before it harms you.

All the best,

I Have Not Blogged For Most of The Week, So...

...here is a rundown of my week:

Saturday and Sunday, I went hunting. Hunted a new area on Saturday about 80 miles further west than the one I most frequently hunt. I didn't see hide nor hair of a deer although there was a decent amount of deer sign including buck sign such as scrapes and rubs. A bunch of hunters around me took way to many shots to allow me to think they actually hit anything. One guy, I am guessing he was one of three hunters of a group I saw who went into the woods near me, fired a shot that was followed by another after a brief pause and those were followed by three more in rapid succession. I hunkered down hoping none were coming my way. Later, another four or five shots in rapid succession from what sounded like the same gun coming from the same direction. Then three shots, fired quickly, from another gun from same direction and about the same distance from the sound of them. Then a shot or two. Both of those last from different guns. Then even later another five shots from a gun sounding the same as the first, again in rapid fire. I guess they saw some deer but as I suspected they did not bag even one. I saw them driving away empty handed.

Sunday, I went to the old spot. I did not have a deer management permit there (doe permit). I figured I could scout it for next weekend or the one after. I thought I saw another hunter in the woods since I saw a lot of blaze orange, then lost him. Moments later, a doe burst out from behind a deadfall and trotted right toward where I saw the hunter. She presented a broadside running shot but I did not take it, one because I did not have a doe permit and two because I thought someone else was in the line of fire. I got behind the biggest tree near me expecting to hear the other guy blasting away in my direction. No shots wen off. I later found that the hunter I saw had been tapped around a tree that someone had possibly used as a stand. I guess I am happy I played it safe by not shooting when someone else may have been there and by not putting myself into a position to be arrested for bagging a doe without a permit. My son has a permit for the area but he never showed up, said he was too tired to drive after work on Friday! Hopefully I will get his arse into the woods before the season ends. We have three more weekends including this one for the rifle season.

After that it was back to the grind. Been working kind of full time, filling in a slot, while my employer looks for someone to fill a full time position.

Last night, I went shopping for some baking needs, probably will bake a pie or two for dessert today. Going to my daughter's house for dinner later, that is if I am feeling up to it (right now my joints are killing me, I almost am thinking I have Lyme again). I also picked up a little something special while at the supermarket last night, a 2.5 pound crustacean for an after dinner snack. I can tell you this, it was absolutely delicious. Sort of a Thanksgiving eve celebration.

This beast weighed in at 2.25 pounds.
Nope, I didn't shoot it with the 45, the pistol is there to give you an idea of my dinner's size. And yes, it cost an arm and a leg (and it might once have been able to remove one of either, or at least a finger, with that right claw) but sometimes you just have to treat yourself nicely and say a definitive and final no to any more of the leftovers that are waiting for you in your fridge!

Happy Thanksgiving.

All the best,
