...has led me to change around some of my blogroll lists. In checking who linked back to me I realized that there were at least a few bloggers who had given me a reciprocal link since I last checked. I moved them from in whatever section I had their blog's link up to the top section: "Grumps, Geeks, Gun Guys, and Geniuses - All Worth A Read and Who Gave Me A Courtesy Link - Thanks".
I also moved some links to other bloggers out of that section. This has taken up quite some of my pre-work hours this morning. I don't remember which blog I was on today in which I noticed that the reciprocal blog back to me was gone. I then looked to see if this had happened on other blogs and I found that several have dropped their link to my blog. I also figured I had best look to see if anyone else had added me to their blogroll.
I was pleasantly surprised to see a few more bloggers had given me reciprocal links. That is always nice. On the other hand, I must admit I was pretty disappointed to see there were no reciprocal links back to my blog on a few, or even several, of the other blogs that had previously given a reciprocal link back to mine. I don't know why those other bloggers no longer have a link to my blog on their pages and while I am curious I will make no effort to find out. What I do care about more is that the links to my page on their pages are gone. So I looked into rearranging my blogroll list. Please note this is not out of vindictiveness but out of appropriateness. Note I did not say I removed anyone from my blogroll. What I did was rearrange it so that those who, at least to my knowledge, still give me a reciprocal link have their blogs listed in my first blogroll section under: "Grumps, Geeks, Gun Guys, and Geniuses - All Worth A Read and Who Gave Me A Courtesy Link - Thanks" and I removed those who do not afford me that courtesy and placed their links in the appropriate sections of my blogroll. One blog also had an apparent name change from Call Me Ahab to Gun Nus Media - at least that new site came up when I clicked on the web link to Call Me Ahab; I changed it as it seemed appropriate. I think I got it all straight now, but if you notice that I fouled up, please let me know and I'll make the necessary correction(s).

Blog List Edit & New Blog List Added
I just finished editing my blog roll. Some of the folks who were in one category are now in another, a few from one blog list or another were moved up to the Grumps, Geeks, Gun Guys, and Geniuses - All Worth A Read And Who Gave Me A Courtesy Link list. That is because after carefully perusing every blog to which I link, I discovered that quite a few bloggers had links back to my site that I had not been aware of before. Those links back to my blog deserve extra recognition in my esteem, thus they were moved up to the blog link list at the top that notes they gave me the courtesy of a reciprocal link. If you have given me a reciprocal link and I did not move you up to the above mentioned blog list, please let me know.
I also added a new list of bloggers. The list I added is of those who appear to have gone missing in action due to infrequent or no current blogging. By infrequent I mean that usually more than a month and often a longer period passes before you know they are still alive and typing. By no current blogging I mean just that, it appears a blogger has stopped blogging altogether. If they come back to life in the Blogoshpere, then I'll bump em back to another place on the blog roll.
All the best,

The Latest Link(s)
Tonight I found out my blog was prominently linked on the blog: The Wandering Minstrel. How can I not give a reciprocal blog to someone with genius enough to link to me! So there it is, over on the right, in 'The Grumps, Geeks, Gun Guys and Geniuses...' blog roll. This particular blogger is one of the gun toting (and smart) variety which are my favorites, that is right after those who get me in trouble with my wife when they flash me a pretty smile.
There is also a new blog under the header of 'All Sorts of Great Bloggers - No Links Back To Me - But I Like Em Anyway' blog roll. This new one is Great Blue Whale. Another gun blog among other things.
Check them out, I think that you will like them.
All the best,
Glenn B

New Additions To My Blogroll
The two latest additions to my blogroll are:
The Ready Line @ http://thereadyline.blogspot.com/ which is a pro-gun rights blog that seems to have new entries each and every day; and is well written and interesting at that.
Wile, Wit, Wisdom and Weaponry @ http://wilewitwisdomandweaponry.blogspot.com/ is another well written blog, a pro-gun rights and hunting site, but that is added to less frequently than the above blog.
Hope you enjoy visiting them and reading what they have to offer; I know I will do so.
All the best,

It's Nice To Know Who Returns A Courtesy...
...and nice to know who does not. I guess I do not understand the world of bloggers, although I certainly have tried; or maybe I do understand - and if I do well it just ain't no different from the rest of the world. There are people out there who when shown a courtesy and given a compliment would show a courtesy back at you, even if they decided not to return a compliment. They direct a courtesy back to you because, even maybe while they do not necessarily agree with you or maybe they just don't even like you enough to give you a compliment, they are respectful folks and they know one of life's best kept rules is that one good deed deserves another. They also see a courtesy given to them as a good deed. So it would make sense that if one blogger provides a link on his blog to the site of another blogger, then that other blogger would return the courtesy; but of course that would only make sense if the other blogger was a respectful type of person.
Of course this does not necessarily mean that someone who fails to return the courtesy of a link with a reciprocal link is a cad; there could be plenty of reasons they do not link back. Some of those reasons could be that a courteous and respectful blogger who has not provided the reciprocal link has not: realized his site was linked to on the other site, updated his site in a while, remembered to provide the reciprocal link, does not provide links as a matter of principal. Then again, the blogger who does not provide a reciprocal link could just be an out and out arrogant, disrespectful, discourteous asshole - although I will admit this type is probably the rare exception. I suppose there could also be a number of other reasons, and it is not that they elude my train of thought right now but rather that I am sure you can think of them yourselves.
I have not quite figured out yet, who of the bloggers for whom I provide a link on my list of links fits in any of the above categories - that is except for two of those categories - those who do not normally provide reciprocal links for whatever reason, and those who have had the courtesy and decency to provide a reciprocal link to my site on their blogs. I also know that out of the first 30 links I have provided to the sites of other bloggers, there are only 7 who showed me the same courtesy in return. So I think a little gardening on my side plot of linked sites is about due. Now I have to decide if I want to treat the non-reciprocating bloggers as weeds and just yank em out by the roots, or if I want to treat them as belonging in their own little brier patch apart from those flowers of respect and decency who had the courtesy grace my garden with a link to my blog. Pretty flowery analogies emanating through my keyboard, but not one word of bullshit to be found, I used all of the manure I had on hand in my real garden.
Well, I'll check the rest of the blogs to see how many others reciprocate with a link to my site, and then I guess I'll give it a good think over the next few days on how I should handle it, and if I should do anything at all. I am pretty sure I will do something, and that weeding and replanting will be taking place in the near future with some. By the way, this is not any sort of a threat to those who don't link back to my site on their own sites. I am not foolish enough to think that my removing a link to your site from my little blog has any effect as any sort of threat, and besides that why would I bother with trying to threaten someone into being courteous. Courtesy is a thing you learn, and then that you develop as your character develops. Making any sort of a threat in order to try to guide someone toward becoming courteous would be counterproductive, and is certainly not something I would even think of attempting with a grown adult who has already developed their own character to either include or exclude common courtesy. Of course, if this rant reminds you that you somehow forgot to give me a link on your site to mine, and then you do me that courtesy, that would be nice of you. A reminder it may be, a threat no - not in the least.
I figure most of the bloggers who visit my site are nice folks. I can sort of tell that from what they have written about in their own blogs, and from the quality of comments they have sometimes left on my blog. I would hate to inadvertently offend any of them by having them think that I believe them to be less than nice people, or that I am making some sort of ludicrous threat when I am not. So please, if you are one of the folks who has not linked to this site on your own site, just take my current rant and any action I take concerning weeding or replanting of non-reciprocating bloggers as me being me, and as me blogging about something that is important to me.

I toned down the above, the morning immediately after I first posted it. Why? Well because I don't want to be offensive to those who read it and are not among the disrespectful type of bloggers who do not give the least bit of concern to common courtesy. I know my fellow bloggers, the ones to whom I have linked on my blog, better than that. I believe you are rather nice people, and would not have wanted to have you believe otherwise because of the way I had previously phrased some things above.

One last thing. If you are a blogger, and provide a link to my blog on your own and I have not given you the courtesy of which I have written - well it is most probably because I am not aware you link to this blog. If that is the the case, please let me know you have extended a courtesy to me, and I will gladly return it to you. Thanks.

What Have I Been Missing...
...and for that matter what have you been missing? Well, the ever expanding link list to other bloggers just keeps expanding, lest we miss too much. I did a little link looting over the past couple of weeks or so; I clicked on numerous links on other people's site, then did likewise on those new sites, and so on. In doing so I came up with several sites to which I have provided new links (looted from other sites) over on the right side of my page. The new ones, at least for me, are:
A Western Heart @ http://awesternheart.blogspot.com/
Blowing San #1 at http://agangershome.blogspot.com/
Call me Ahab at http://www.nrahab.com/
Dr. StrangeGun, or how I learned to love the odd... at http://drstrangegun.blogspot.com/
Grouchy Old Cripple In Atlanta at http://www.grouchyoldcripple.com/
Instapundit @ http://www.instapundit.com/
The Autonomist @ http://www.antiprotester.blogspot.com/
The Bitch Girls @ http://www.thebitchgirls.us/
The Dissident Frogman @ http://www.thedissidentfrogman.com/blog
The View From The Porch @ http://booksbikesboomsticks.blogspot.com/
Wizbang @ http://wizbangblog.com/
I may have written up some of them before, cannot remember as I am kind of foggy about the last few weeks during my illness (and heck I am friends with Al Z. Heimer being I am 51, so please excuse me if the announcement of any of them as new links on my site is a repeat. I think though that those are all of the ones that I have added within the past few weeks. Enjoy them, I certainly will.
