...and has lost its sovereignty, see this article and note how the British government effected this "quietly". Too bad for the British people that their leaders had no backbone when it came to standing up for what was justly British; but they are now not only subject to the laws of England, but are also subject to the laws of a religion - those of Islam under Sharia Law. The Islamists have won, they have effectually defeated a nation, and a people, that they have despised for centuries and one which they have sought to conquer in reprisal for Britain having once conquered many of the nations that were under the rule of Islam.
By the way, if any of you think this is religious freedom and is wonderful, then just tell me honestly: How do you think Muslims would react if suddenly Catholic Dogma was passed as controlling civil law in a place like Detroit, but Sharia law was not. This is or should be an outrage to any British citizen, and is an absolute surrender of British sovereignty to the Islamists. Prepare for it here in the USA because they are working at it for sure.
If you think it cannot happen here in the USA you are far from wrong, the enemy is within the gates of Freedom's Walls. The 1st Amendment will not protect you from Sharia law, only the 2nd Amendment will do that. Remain vigilant, be prepared to fight and die for your freedoms under our Constitution, otherwise you are sure to lose them as are the people of many nations throughout Europe. I see it this way: Let religion remain religion, and not become the state, and be prepared to fight for that principle otherwise be prepared to worship another man's god.

Maybe This Will Help The Real British To Wake Up...
...and realize that all of their white man's guilt for centuries of the British Empire having been a colonial power is not going to be assuaged by making others, who were once oppressed by the British, British citizens. No it is not surprising that 38% of south Asians who were polled said they do not feel like they are British - see: http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/6921534.stm.
So, many of those Pakistani Muslims are not going to melt in the pot, nor are many of the other folks from places like India, Hong Kong, or anywhere else. Just because you gave them British Citizenship does not mean that they will not seek to destroy your way of life, if by nothing else, then by not assimilating and spreading their own culture within your borders. In fact, as can be witnessed from what is going on across the pond, it seems as if many of those folks would rather destroy the British way of life and replace it with something a bit more fatalistic.

Another war - doubtful!
Even though Iran has lit the tinder that would have easily been fanned into the flames of war in past times, I sort of doubt that their provocation of England will result in a war this time around. Regarding the 15 British military personnel who were captured by the Iranian naval forces, the European Union has been outspoken, and according to the article Iran: UK Troops Illegally Entered Waters @ http://www.foxnews.com/wires/2007Mar24/0,4670,BritishSeizedIran,00.html
"The European Union also called for the "immediate liberation" of the captured sailors, according to German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier, whose country holds the EU's rotating presidency."
Of course, Great Britain has also called for their immediate release, as so they should be released. Yet, I have to wonder, if Iran does not release them immediately, what will be the consequence? It is probable that the EU will do absolutely nothing but grumble more. The UK will also grumble on and on. My guess is also that Iran will eventually (probably in the near future) release them, unharmed. Of course maybe Iran will execute them instead, or imprison them for many years. Then maybe the Brits will feel their oats, and they will retaliate, and there will be another war ongoing in the world. I sort of doubt it though, my guess is that this is all chest pounding, and behind the scenes dealing (of which there is likely already some going on). Who will capitulate the most - my guess is England; and although I would hope that not be the case, I am almost certain it will be so. I also believe that in this matter the EU will be useless, but I may yet be proven wrong - Iran may benefit from the EU's lack of spine after all is said and done.
