I have noticed over my seventy years thus far on Earth, as a human and an American, that the only time the media and the Leftists in politics (considerable overlap, there) are concerned about a US President being King, or there being any sort of Imperial Presidency is when a Republican President appears to be making any move towards using the powers the Democrats in the Congress has delegated to the Executive for use by Democrat Presidents. I first noticed that concern during Nixon's first term, again with Ronald Reagan, and again, with the current holder of the office.
May God forbid they actually do something other than hold hands across the aisle in bipartisan activities or act as a placeholder for when a proper People's President returns to lead the Executive branch.
