Oh the f'ing toothache I have has been keeping me up all night or maybe
sleep is eluding me due to the six 5 mg oxycodone tablets I took over
the past several hours or so. Oxycodone keeps me awake, but feeling amazingly well rested about 50 to 60% of the times I take it soon before going to bed.
At least my back and right hip are painless right now but it is not workimg very well on my tooth. I have an appointment for a root canal on the 27th of this month, that is about a month and a half after I got a referal from my dentist for it. Health care here and the availabilty, or lack of availabilty, for medical and dental providers is pretty horrendous.
Of course, that means there is not even a single endodontist who participates in the Blue Cross dental plan within 100 miles of where I reside. So, I expect to have to pay a substantial portion of the bill out of pocket but BC says they will cover more than usual for a non-participatng provider because of the lack of any participants within that range. Still, my guess is I will need to pay big bucks. As for my dentists, BC has paid everything for each visit I have made to two participating ones so far.
Oh well, I need to have it done so will pay what I need to pay. I am going to call the dentist later today to see if she can get the endodontist to see me much sooner than the 27th and if she will give me something that works better to quell the pain or at least will refill my prescription. It is just about exhausted.

Clove oil. Baby teething analgesic gel. Frozen bananas. I once bought fish antibiotic for an abscess. 350 MLS Amoxicillin 3 times a day for ten days.
There are no really good analysis for severe tooth pain. A nerve block of course works but that isn't an at home option. The only truly effective remedy is removal of the tooth or the nerve...a root canal. It sucks. Whoever "designed" teeth did a crappy job.
Yep, tooth pain sucks and pain meds doing little to nothing sucks big time. Health care providers who evidently do not give a shit as to how much a patient is suffering sucks just the shame. It is not solely me who thinks there is an attitude, among heath care providers in the Texarkana area, that shows a pervasive lack of respect for patients. Several other folks I know think the same and that includes a few to several doctors to whom I have spoken about the dismal state of health care here. That includes a widespread arrogance of many doctors here. That includes a seeming lack of respect for patients from providers. I will call my dentist's office again tomorrow, at an earlier time, to try to get in for an exigent appointment tomorrow. If that does not happen, a new search for yet another dentist will commence.
If need be, I will seek out a dentist in Little Rock, AR. Going to LR for health care is inconvenient to say the least, especially since health care there is on a level close to what it is here. The thing is, they seem to have more providers in LR and less of an arrogant attitude which by my guess is because of more competition. Not getting care in a timely manner, and thus suffering needlessly, is much worse though than the inconvenience of going to LR for care so if need be that is where I will go. The upside to that unrelated to health care is I can visit my son annd his girlfriend and stay at their place if need be.
