I would have posted about this sooner but only found out about this yesterday. Tamara, of View From The Porch, has been diagnosed with basal cell skin cancer. She reportedly does not have health insurance and thus could use some help to pay her medical expenses relative to the cancer treatments. Along those lines, an organized fund raiser, of sorts, has commenced with the goal of raising enough cash for her not to have to worry about how those bills will be paid. You can donate to her on her blog via her 'tip jar'.
A bunch of other bloggers have donated prizes that can be won dependent upon the amount one donates. Those efforts were individual ventures all with the same aim but now have been organized into a single endeavor as explained by Jay over at MA-rooned. Thanks for sharing Tamara's story. I sent an email to Jay at MA rooned and and I am donating a crocheted lap blanket as a prize. Jay told me he is going to do another fundraiser and will use the quilt then.
I wish I had a ton of money to help...but I pray my quilt will do.

You don't need a lot of money to help and do not have to donate even a single penny as you have just demonstrated. Your kind donation of the homemade lap blanket is absolutely fantastic. Jay will make good use of it for fund raising.
