A job will put money in your pocket and the longer your tenure and harder you work, while playing by the rules of your employer, you should see rewards in the form of raises, promotions and possibly bonuses come your way.

After I left college I went fishing. For six years. Commercial fisherman. Then I saw the writing on the wall what with onerous govt regulations trying to kill an industry. So I went job hunting, finding a job that paid minimum wage. The reason I took that job was solely because of opportunity to move up. Within 3 yrs I was earning 3x my starting wage and managing a crew of 4. From what I learned there I started my own business.
That is one of my success stories and only one of tens of millions of similar stories. If the motivation is not within an individual, they should be given that motivation like in the form of a boot up the ass. The coddling of youth is killing our society.
