Is This The Most Important Thing At Fox News...

... the vocal cord condition of a country singer, at least as I write this post at 2:10 PM on May 9, 2023? Is it really an article about some country music singer, whom I have never heard about before today, having a problem with his vocal cords and having to lay off his concert tour for 6 weeks! So it seemed as I wrote this post. More at the source. Now, while that is entertainment news, and some folks may be interested in such news, does it truly rate being the top headline on a national news site when there is other much more important news for the nation? Really Fox News - is that the best you can do at finding a newsworthy item to place as your top headline at any given time!!!

Whatever happened to Fox News reporting on really important things (to all Americans as a whole) that concern our nation? Let's face it, as I was writing this, President Trump was reportedly convicted in a civil trial for civil battery (more at the source) and several news agencies reported on it in their headlines - not Fox News, at least not on their main online news page, as I continued to write this at 2:15 PM! So, a country crooner is more important than a former president being convicted in a civil trial! I do not comprehend Fox News' priorities in reporting.

Lately, besides Fox seemingly reporting on things that I think are more befitting a Hollywood rag, I have seen lots of what I think are horrendous grammatical and spelling errors at Fox that someone, like maybe an editor, should have caught before an article containing such errors went to print. Besides misspellings, they often include gender neutral pronouns - whom are they kissing up to? When they talk about one specific person and then start calling that person "they" or "them" it truly is ridiculous in my estimation.

As for spelling & grammatical errors, yea I know, I make plenty of mistakes in my blog posts but here is the deal: I am not a journalist by profession, I am not a professional writer who is receiving pay for what I write (in fact I get zero compensation except maybe self satisfaction and personal enjoyment), I do not have an editor who checks over my posts as an editor at Fox News should be checking the work of his underlings and yet I am willing to bet you'd find a higher rate of errors in Fox News reports than in my blog posts.

Now, I may be wrong about the rate of errors in my stuff as compared to theirs but even if I am incorrect, why are the reports on Fox News.com strewn with errors? I do not recall that being the case a couple or few years back. The truth is, as it seems to me, that Fox News articles appear to be getting dumber and dumber in as much as to content that would better befit the pages of the super liberal Main Stream Media Mud Slinging Media and as far as an apparent lack of editing goes when it comes to the writing skills or lack of such skills among the journalists who write some of their pieces.

All the best,
Glenn B

Universities sure have dropped the ball on turning out journalism students. To make things worse, those that hire them are either as ignorant, or have an agenda to promote.

Most of these so called journalists couldn't have passed the high school journalism class I took back in 1972.

Lefties have taken over the minds of the college professors.
In 63 or thereabouts, around fourth grade, the Just Graduated teachers assistant and teacher were having a conversation as if the kids weren't there. The assistant said that the commies were going to take America down without firing a shot. I never forgot that.
