All Those Dog Walks...

...that me my mongrel Skye have taken since we teamed up back in October 2019 evidently have had an effect. After my shower this morning, I caught a glimpse of myself in the bathroom mirror; that's something I usually try to avoid except when combing my hair or grooming the beard - it's a scary sight.

Well, I noticed that despite starting to eat snacks again during the Christmas season, and sticking with the snacks since then, I looked a tad thinner than I have been looking. Now, I know I lost weight because of the dog walking, probably about 15 to 20 pounds at most, but I thought I had gained a bit back. Anyway, when I was in my closet grabbing my duds for the day, after seeing what looked like a thinner me, I spied a pair of Levi's dungarees. I have not worn them in many years. There are two reasons for that - one being that the back pockets position my wallet right at where the pressure fro the wallet causes a lot of hip pain. The other simply was - they no longer fit, I don't think I have been able to fit into them for at least 10 years. I have tried them on several times in that period but never got them to close.

Yep - you guessed it - today they closed around the waist and while not a perfect fit, it was pretty easy to close them. If I had any of those little gold stars that the nuns used to stick on top of a test paper that had a good mark, I'd stick it on my forehead and then go out for a great big breakfast at a local restaurant (if any were open which they are not). I guess I'll just make myself a nice big greasy sausage and egg and pan fried toast (not in the mood to thaw out a pound and a half of bacon and then cook it) of a breakfast to celebrate. I may even cook up a few scrambies for the pooch!

All the best,
Glenn B
