The things I don't like about that type of carry are that sooner or later:

1) You put down the bag, and anyone else can pick it up if you are distracted.

2) It is difficult to draw from a carry type like that.

3) It is easier to take away from you than would be a pistol in a hip holter.

4) Unless the gun is the only thing in the bag, there is a chance that something else in the bag cpould interfere with your draw, with your placing the gun back into the bag, or that could get stuck in the muzzle or in the trigger guard.

When I was still part of the now defunct U.S. Customs Service, we had an agent working there who carried on her hip whenever she carried (as far as I am aware). This included when she wore a skirt or a dress. Yes she wore a blet over the skirt or dress and a strong side hip holster on the belt. It was not the best way to carry because the clothing type did not have belt loops to help keep the belt and therefore the holster in place, but it meant the firearm would be with her at all times in the holster, and she would never absent mindedly put it down along with her hand bag. It looked weird, she got made fun of over it, but I think it was better than carry in a purse.

All the best,
Glenn BGlenn Bhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16677859688487279914noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32768818.post-34483444407001360272007-09-25T00:23:00.000-05:002007-09-25T00:23:00.000-05:00I got a new mounted holster yesterday (finally, be...I got a new mounted holster yesterday (finally, been waiting 2 weeks)...I will post it with pics on Friday as my show and tell.

What are your thoughts on carrying in a purse? I've seen purses and bags that have "hidden" compartments for the gun......

Of course, if I put my current gun in my purse (S&W .38 Special, 6" barrel) all I'd have to do would be to swing the damn thing at the bad guy.....one hit with that heavy thing and you'd be out like a light!

Hubby says that with the CHL we'll get a new gun...... ;-)MightyMomhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02563721884001643857noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32768818.post-84829811282276923692007-09-24T07:35:00.000-05:002007-09-24T07:35:00.000-05:00My two favorite carry holsters are made by Crossbr...My two favorite carry holsters are made by Crossbreed and Southern Holsters.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
